There is but only a tenuous line between love and hate. That much can be deduced from the love gone sour between Biola Okoya and Fifi Ejindu, the great granddaughter of King James Ekpo Bassey of Cobham Town, Calabar. The once bosom friends appear unwilling to bury the hatchet that tore their friendship apart.
Biola and Fifi were once seen as models of friendship until a silent but bruising war developed between them. Fifi, a goddess of high society, and Biola, the fun-loving daughter of the landlord of Oluwanisola Villa, Chief Rasak Akanni Okoya, used to be so close that they did virtually everything together. They had fun at parties and made millions from joint businesses efforts.
Even the distance between Lagos and Abuja where Biola and Fifi resided did not seem to pose any problem as they carried on like Siamese twins. Hence the high society was shocked when rumours of their breakup began to enjoy generous mention in the news media. The situation was not helped by their refusal to debunk the rumours. In no time, the duo’s tag of bosom friends changed to sworn enemies. They were no longer seen in public together and they stared avoiding each other at public functions.
Efforts made by their friends to reunite them are said to have yielded no result as the two appear hell bent on remaining rivals.
