Why my marriages crashed, by Frank Edoho

Media personality Frank Edoho has announced the end of his second marriage in a discussion on the Tea With Tay podcast.

Edoho revealed that despite his best efforts, his two marriages didn’t work out.

Edoho attributed the failure of his marriages to not finding a soul mate, explaining that a soul mate is someone who understands you even before you express yourself and you naturally align with each other.

He emphasised that he went above and beyond in both marriages, but ultimately, it’s not about blaming the other person for falling out of love.

He said: “Maybe I’m not good at marriage, I must confess. The two women I had been married to are not my soul mates. Love of your life is different from your soul mate. The love of your life is the person who comes to your mind when you think of love. But your soul mate is someone who understands you even before you express yourself and you naturally align with.

“I know that I went above and beyond for the two marriages. I carried my partner… I can abandon everything for her. But you don’t blame them for falling out of love with you. Take the footballer Kaka for example, he’s a Brazilian and he looks as handsome as an Indian. Very handsome guy, even when he retired from football, he was still handsome. But his wife divorced him. Do you know what she said? ‘He is too good’.”

  • Most women don’t like nice men, says Frank Edoho

Most women don’t like nice men, says Frank Edoho

Media personality Frank Edoho has stated that many women are more attracted to “bad boys” who occasionally display kindness than to men who are extremely kind.

Speaking during a recent episode of The Black Table on TVC, Edoho referenced an article where women shared their relationship preferences.

He pointed out that many women confessed to being attracted to men who display assertiveness or dominance.

According to him, women are often drawn to men who exude power and confidence, especially when these qualities are occasionally balanced with moments of kindness.

He said, “There was an article I saw on a blog that intrigued me. The topic was, ‘What is that red flag that you admire in the opposite sex?’

“The question was channelled to women. Although, I am of the school of thought that men shouldn’t be nice all the time, the answers I got further my resolve that men should not even be nice at all.

“Women were answering, do you know what I saw? There was one I saw that says, ‘I like it when my man tells me, ‘I don’t want to repeat myself again’.’ She said it turns her on.

“Others said that they like it when their man wax them, not extremely but shows power, it turns them on.

“There are some strange things going on in the minds of these women that you are trying to be nice to. I am not saying all of them are like that but majority of women don’t like nice guys. They want bad guys that are nice to them sometimes”.

Frank Edoho speaks on Mercy Chinwo, Label discrepancies

Renowned TV host Frank Edoho has shed light on the contentious relationship between gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and former label boss, Eezee Tee.

According to Edoho on TVC, Chinwo’s refusal to renew her contract led to the label allegedly ceasing to book her for events.

Edoho revealed that an independent audit conducted by Chinwo’s team uncovered significant discrepancies in payments from digital music distribution companies.

Specifically, he said AfriCori paid $800,000 yet Chinwo received $90,000.

Edoho further claimed that Chinwo’s songs remain on the label’s YouTube channel, depriving her of backend revenue.

Frank said the situation took a darker turn when Eezee Tee allegedly replaced Chinwo’s original contract with a new one without her consent.

He said: “I spoke to her husband and he sat me down and we found out that some of her royalties were paid. Firstly, none of her songs are on her YouTube channel. They are on the label’s channel. She hasn’t seen the backend of it to know how much revenue was given,” Edoho said.

“I think Mercy’s husband now showed her proceeds to an artiste, that from one distribution company, this is what she made. The person told them that based on her numbers, her payment was a lie.

“So they did some findings, and asked those distribution companies to give them figures. Only one could, and that was AfriCori. AfriCori gave for the period from 2020 to 2023, I think. And the amount of money was like $800,000 and only 90 grand was given to her.

“No, not so because from the $800,000, you have to pay the distribution company. What’s remaining is probably $600,000. I saw all the documents.

“They got an audit company but the label wasn’t forthcoming and that was why they got the EFCC into the matter. The EFCC asked the label to pay her and that was when the propaganda started. They let him go and he even paid the money in two installments. But he’s still owing for that period and that’s from one company.

“Towards the end of her contract, the label said they want to extend the contract for 12 years. But she said no. So the label stopped giving events. I saw all these things.

“There’s nobody standing for her because she’s a big star and people feel she’s the one abusing power. I stepped into the matter because they’re my friends. I saw all the facts and it is not in tandem with what the speculations are.

“Mercy’s album is on Qatar Airlines, and according to her, she hasn’t been paid publishing. From inception. The label hasn’t paid her, based on publishing”.

Eezee Tee is embroiled in a legal battle, facing charges of financial misconduct and dishonest conversion.

The case has been adjourned to May 14.

Frank Edoho canvasses facts over emotions in Mercy Chinwo, EeeZee conceptz dispute

Media personality Frank Edoho has intervened in the ongoing dispute between gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and former manager, Eeezee Concepts, urging the public to prioritise facts over emotions.

Edoho addressed widespread claims surrounding the case, emphasising that Nigerians often rely on narratives rather than factual evidence.

He revealed that contrary to speculation, Chinwo had not avoided an audit, as two separate financial reviews had already been conducted.

“Non-Nigerians are of the opinion that Nigerians always stick to narratives instead of facts. I found this to be a little bit true in the case of Mercy Chinwo and EeeZee concepts where everyone is using emotion instead of facts and people are going off. I decided to find facts that have not seen the light of day.

“The first thing is why is Mercy Chinwo avoiding audit. She is not, as a matter of fact, two audits have been done. There was a meeting and the audit was handed over to a company and then the company withdrew itself from the audit.

“It was at the point where Mercy Chinwo’s team decided to take the matter to the EFCC and they Invited EeeZee to the office. This was when the second audit was done and it was found that he owed her some money that he had to pay”, he said.

Regarding allegations that the EFCC coerced or mistreated EeeZee, Edoho dismissed such claims, stating that the process was transparent.

He explained that the EFCC had invited EeeZee for questioning and a second audit was conducted, revealing that he owed Chinwo money.

“They didn’t coerce him like some people think, they let him go and he has two instalments of the money he owed, which he hasn’t completed yet.

“Some people are even saying that the EFCC is torturing him or taking money from his account. Let us stop using our feelings to talk about matters. I refrain from talking about matters until I see facts,” he added.

Why I almost got sacked as “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” host – Frank Edoho

Media personality Frank Edoho has opened up about his previous marriage and the domestic violence allegations that nearly ended his career as host of the popular game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (WWTBAM).

In a recent appearance on the “WithChude” podcast, Edoho reflected on his seven-year marriage to Katherine Obiang, with whom he shares three children.

He described their union as a “mismatch” and admitted that both parties played a role in the challenges they faced.

After their separation, rumours of domestic violence began to circulate, which Edoho vehemently denied.

He disclosed that these allegations created a career crisis, as sponsors of “WWTBAM” pushed for his removal as the show’s host.

Edoho recounted a pivotal meeting with his boss and the sponsors, during which he presented evidence and gave his account of the events leading to the end of his marriage.

This, he said, helped clarify the situation and defend his position.

The media personality’s revelations shed light on the personal and professional hurdles he navigated during a turbulent chapter of his life.

He said: “My ex-wife was my friend, and there were children involved. I think ours was a mismatch; I was young. When she got pregnant, I had cold feet, but I still got married. It lasted seven years, and in 2010, I left. Three years later, I remarried.

“Being friends with the opposite sex doesn’t mean you should get married because that’s a different ball game. In hindsight, maybe I should have thought about it a bit more.

“She was my good friend, but I think it was love too. I also believe we didn’t examine our relationship thoroughly before we delved into it. I’m not going to say it was solely her fault; it was my fault too, but not in the way people were depicting it.

“That was one of the times I was very depressed, but I couldn’t say anything. The first crisis happened in 2007, but I still stayed on for three years; then it came to a head in 2010, and I left.

“When I left, I was still doing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire; then all of a sudden, I was in the UK, and my boss called me and told me to come back to Lagos because the sponsors were hearing things about me.

“They said I wasn’t going to present this show anymore because of those rumours. I got on a flight the following morning to attend a meeting with them.

“Luckily, my boss knew everything because I’d been telling him about the altercations between us. I was also thinking about my children. They said I committed domestic violence and I was a wife-beater.

“After listening to them, I told them I would tell them everything starting from when I was dating. By the time I reached marriage and the birth of my son and first daughter, two of the ladies were crying.

“I was providing accounts of everything that happened, and I told them that I have receipts. I said nobody divorced me; I took my suitcase and left the marriage.

He questioned societal norms and the definition of marriage as an achievement, asserting that the end of a marriage does not equate to failure.

“Firstly, marriage is not an achievement. Who told you marriage is an achievement? It’s just two people agreeing to live together. If one marriage breaks, it’s not the end of the world. Leaving a marriage doesn’t mean you’ve failed”, he said.

Man can cheat, still love his woman, says Frank Edoho

Media personality and TV host, Frank Edoho has claimed that a man can cheat on his woman with another lady but still has overall love for his woman.

He asserted that while a man can cheat freely without no strings attached, it is “impossible” for a woman in love to cheat.

The legendary presenter was featured as a guest in the latest episode of the Bahd And Boujee Podcast co-hosted by actress Moet Abebe and reality star Tolanibaj.

Edoho said: “A man can cheat and still be in love with his woman, not the woman he cheated with. But a woman can’t be in love with someone and go and cheat.”

The co-host, Abebe rebuffed: “I disagree. Uncle, no! I feel that there are women who can cheat without any emotional attachment. They are just cheating for whatever reason because they want to. And they also exude masculine energy.”

Edoho insisted: “Let’s talk about the aftermath of cheating. After a woman cheated and found out that the sex was fantastic, are you going to tell me that you will still be in love with your partner the same way and not have a little bit of that love go to the other guy? I rest my case.”

Edoho also disclosed during the show that he has never been sacked from any job before.

He stated this while reacting to speculations that he was “fired” by the organisers of the popular television quiz, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’.

According to him, he stopped hosting the quiz because the organisers rested on the competition.

The video has received mixed reactions.

Reacting to the video via his X handle, Edoho schooled Bliss on what he should have done in such a situation.

The TV personality argued that the singer should not have held her when she knelt down.

He stated that Moses should have calmed the bride down and sent her back to her husband.

Edoho wrote: “I can’t blame the singer for her reaction but he shouldn’t have held her when she latched on to him like that. Direct the bride back to her husband and calm her euphoria. That’s the etiquette.”

  • Why my ‘gbas gbos’ game is strong-Frank Edoho

Why my ‘gbas gbos’ game is strong-Frank Edoho

Famous TV host and media personality, Frank Edoho has explained why his ‘gbas gbos’ skills always hit hard on internet trolls.

The 51-year-old said he decided to reply trolls after he was trolled over speculations that he was sacked as host of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” TV quiz show.

He said he clapped back at the trolls because the news of his sack was fake.

He stated this in the latest episode of the Teju Babyface Deep Dive Podcast hosted by comedian Olateju Oyelakin, aka Teju Babyface.

According to Edoho: “I became the ‘king of clap back’ when they said I was dropped from ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’ and then people started insulting me. People just came at me, you know.

“I never looked at it from the viewpoint that I can’t be insulted. But when you insult me for something that didn’t happen, or you’re just playing childish, or you just want to be corrosive, then I say that these people [trolls] deserve to be answered. Why? Number one, because everybody answers them. And if you give a fool leverage, the fool will grow to become the president of this country one day.

“You know why? Because everybody says, ‘No, don’t involve yourself with trolls.’ Some actually sent me a message and said, ‘This your replies to trolls would disrupt your brand.’ I said, What brand? If I have a brand, I didn’t put it out there knowingly. I’m just a guy who loves broadcasting. I do ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’ And before I got that job, I didn’t promise you that I would be on my best behaviour.

“The problem with these trolls is that when they see people on TV, they see you as an actor or a proficient entertainer from any facet at all; they think that because you are there and people are looking up to you, they expect you to be perfect.”
