    LIKE a flower opening its bud once more to be kissed by the sun, love is once again stirring the heart of society lady Funke Fowler. After a long spell in a lifeless desert governed by loneliness, she has finally found her way into the evergreen glades of bliss with a new found love of her life, Aig-Imoukhuede.

    The news of Funke’s sizzling romance with her new heartthrob is spreading like a wild fire. The daughter of Federal Inland Revenue Service boss Tunde Fowler has found her missing rib in Aigbovbioise Aig-Imoukhuede, the younger brother of the charismatic former Managing Director of Access Bank, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede.

    Aigbovbioise is the head, Capital Markets Division of Coronation Bank, who marries a suave demeanour with a gregarious nature. The new song in town now is that the younger Aig will finally get to make his first ever wedding vows a few years shy of 50.

    Funke Fowler on her part had once walked down the aisle with Abbey Kuku, son of Ogbeni Oja Bayo Kuku, but that marriage was dissolved four years ago on grounds of ‘irreconcilable differences.’

But no sooner had they returned from honeymoon than a crisis occurred, culminating in Funke walking out of the marriage two years later.

    Undaunted by the ‘we-told-you-so’ gestures from friends and acquaintances, Funke threw her mind and soul into her Ashton business and has been reaping the rewards ever since. Her high-end Leila Fowler Boutique has become the fashion destination for trendy socialites.

Not only did the marriage crash two years after it took off, it was alleged that Funke faced challenges in the relationship. Reports said it got so bad that after series of failed attempts at reconciliation, Funke’s mum resolved to take her daughter out of the union during the Yuletide in December, 2013.

    Thereafter, Funke recoiled into her shell and stayed away from the prying eyes of the public. She has since set her eyes on building a business empire and seems determined not to be distracted from that goal as she shuttles between Nigeria and the United States.

    The birthday celebration had set tongues wagging with the conspicuous absence of her estranged husband, Abi Kuku, son of the Ogbeni Oja of Ijebuland, Chief Bayo Kuku. The estranged lovers had been joined in a royal wedding about three years ago, and the wedding was widely acclaimed as one of the most elaborate weddings of the year. A specially built marquee was said to have been made for their engagement in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, costing well over a million dollars.

    Their union reportedly went into distress a few months later, forcing Funke to become less interested in parties, including high-octane ones. Sources close to her said the CEO of Leila Fowler Boutique has been busy enlarging her business.
