    Manchester City have confirmed that Gabriel Jesus has broken a bone in his foot after he limped off in the first-half of the side’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth.

    A statement on the club’s website on Tuesday explained the 19-year-old has a fractured metatarsal and the extent of his lay-off will be revealed after examination from the club’s medical staff in the coming days.

    The forward has scored three goals and made two assists in his first five appearances for the club since transferring from Brazilian champions Palmeiras.

    Such had been the early impression he made that Jesus had ousted the established Sergio Aguero from City’s first-team.

    Aguero came off the bench to replace Jesus at the Vitality stadium on Monday night and doubled City’s lead after Raheem Sterling had opened the scoring.

    Iheanacho has failed to make the bench in the three consecutive games the Brazilian has been selected for Manchester City, but the Nigerian to continue in his rich vein of form.

    19-year-old striker,Gabriel Jesus has been signed  for £27m from Palmeiras.
    According to reports, the Brazilian, aims: “to be happy and to make all Manchester City fans happy too”, has been training with the club for three weeks while they completed due diligence regarding complications involving third-party ownership of the teenager.

    Jesus said: “I want to win titles and Manchester City is a club that is used to winning. City is a club that always competes for the title in the competitions it enters, so that was an important factor, and because of the manager, Pep Guardiola, and the squad.”

    “I’m getting to know everything. I’m very impressed by the size of the club, with the planning, the structure, the training ground is very big, I really like it. I can’t wait to start playing. You can’t avoid it [fans interested in him], people who live for football, who love football.     Neymar has been trying to persuade highly-rated Brazil youngster Gabriel Jesus to join Barcelona.

    The 19-year-old Palmeiras player has been the subject of growing speculation over recent weeks, with Manchester City reported to be leading the chase for his signature among a host of leading European clubs.

    “I spoke with Gabriel Jesus. Not only with him, but also told other players how it feels to play for Barcelona and to live in the city,” Neymar told a news conference.

    “He is a great player. We know lots of clubs want him. He needs to know the right moment to leave, we want the good players by our side. If he comes to Barcelona he will be very happy. Maybe we’re the biggest club in the world. The city and the day-to-day are wonderful.”

    Brazil’s first match in the Olympic tournament is against South Africa next Thursday.
