PDP chair: Lagos chapter endorses Bode George

The Lagos State Chapter of the PDP on Sunday night endorsed Chief Olabode George as their preferred candidate for the National Chairmanship position during the forthcoming  December 9 National Convention of the party.

Dr Moshood Salvador, the State Chairman of PDP, gave the certification at a feedback meeting between George and members of the party, held at the party’s secretariat in GRA, Ikeja.

Reports say that George had been on campaign in the Southern states of the country to seek support for votes ahead of the National Convention.

There are about eight aspirants jostling for the National chairmanship seat of the party from the south.

They include: the former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Daniel, former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran.

Others are: the former Minister of Youth Development, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja and former Lagos State PDP governorship candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje, Prince Uche Secondus, a former acting National Chairman of PDP, and Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

Salvador said: “ On behalf of Lagos PDP, we must vote for Chief Bode George come December 9;  the South west is the rightful region to have the chairman of our great party.

“In the last dispensation, Ekiti produced the Vice- Chairman while Osun and Oyo states took the highest office. It is only Lagos that is left and what we want is the chairman.

“The South-east and the South-south have produced a chairman before that is why it is our turn to have the chairman of PDP,’’ he said.

Earlier, George assured members that if given the opportunity to serve, he would re-establish the culture and tradition put in place by the founding fathers of  the PDP.

“If I am given the opportunity, I will not be new to the management of this party because the party’s constitution is not going to be new to me; I know its provisions as I know the back of my hand.

“We grew up with the party and the founding fathers handed over the culture of the party to us and that is what we would re-establish.

“Just check out, from the end of our convention to the national election is a very short time, it is not a time where you can do experimentation, it is not a time you can bring a green horn to be the chairman of the party.

“If you are desirous that you want to win that election, on that day before you cast your votes search your consciences and think very carefully.

“Secondly, it is not a matter of life and death, if I don’t believe that I have anything to offer, I will not be here.

“I will not compromise on things that are not right and are not in the constitution.

“ I will do things the way they should be done and everybody will be happy. That was how our founding fathers were moving the party forward ,’’ George said.

  • PDP Chair: IBB, Johnathan in support of my ambition, says Daniel

PDP Chair: IBB, Johnathan in support of my ambition, says Daniel

Former Governor  Gbenga Daniel on Sunday said ex – military President, General Ibrahim Babangida and immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan among other  notable Nigerians, are backing his aspiration to lead the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the national level.
Daniel also declared that the PDP’s  number one office has developed into a Southwest agenda that should be pursued and achieved by the geopolitical zone.
The ex – Governor who ruled Ogun State for eight years on the ticket of the party, said he elected to vie for the national chairmanship of PDP, to rescue the party and reposition it for  success.
He noted  that “PDP national chairmanship has gone beyond individual agenda to become a southwest agenda.”
He spoke in Abeokuta while addressing PDP stakeholders and delegates in Ogun State, ahead of the December 9 national convention of the party slated for Abuja.
The meeting was attended by the state chairman of PDP, Sikirulahi Ogundele, Prince Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, Chief Remi Bakare,  Hon. Titi Gomez, Mrs. Iyabo Apampa, Senator Lekan Mustapha and other leaders of the party.
Daniel admitted that while PDP is strong  in the Southeast, South – South and North, it is weak in Southwest, urging  southwest PDP to come together and ensure the zone clinches the position of national chairman.
“Our party is very weak in the southwest. We only have a governor in Ekiti State and we should pray that we retain the state in 2018. In the south-south, south-east and in the north, PDP has more than one governor and the north that has two governors,  has even zoned the presidency in 2019 to the region. So, the only thing left for southwest is the position of the national chairman.
“And if we fail to land the position, then we have nothing left for us. Even APC has its vice president in the southwest as well as other appointees, hence, we must get it right so that we can have something to campaign to our people,” Daniel said.
He expressed  the confidence that if the national chairman comes to Ogun State, the effects would manifest throughout the southwest, and advised the state delegates to vote wisely during the convention.
“I know how to win elections. There is only way to remove an incumbent governor, and that is by a grand coalition of forces. We need GNI, we need Adebutu, we need Lekan Mustapha and everyone to do this.
“My job, if elected as the national chairman of our great party, is to provide the ground for the grand coalition to win. We need to create space for ourselves. I was in Lagos and I was not happy with the situation of the party, we need to work and reposition PDP in Lagos.
“In Osun, people are ready to change the ‘change’. In Oyo, we brought back Ladoja and Makinde to the party, and the people are ready there to vote for PDP again. All we need is a southwest PDP national chairman of my calibre and experience, to organise our people and return PDP to the path of glory.
“Election is even interstate, whatever happens in a neighbouring state will surely percolate down to the other state. So if we win elections in Ekiti and Osun States next year, that will serve as a good omen for our party in 2019 general elections,” said.

PDP chairman aspirants to sign peace accord – Dokpesi

Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the one of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) National Chairmanship aspirants, has said that all the eight chairmanship aspirants would sign a peace accord as part of their commitment toward successful convention.

Dokpesi, the founder of Daar Communications, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen after the PDP Governors Forum met with all aspirants in Enugu, which ended at early hour of Monday.

Dokpesi disclosed that all the aspirants had agreed to sign the peace accord at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, by 4 p.m.

He described the move as part of efforts by the aspirants to ensure that the party comes out of the convention  stronger and united.

“With that accord being signed we are going to look forward to a very peaceful and harmonious convention.”

Asked if the issue of zoning came up at the meeting of the forum with the aspirants, Dokpesi said the party was explicit enough on the issue of zoning.

He said that while the party’s presidential ticket was zoned to the North, the position of chairman’s was zone to the South, without specific reference to  states or geopolitical region.

He said that the candidates had agreed to work together

“After the zoning principle, all the aspirants have agreed to work together to come up with a common position. Anybody can contest.

“If the party in its wisdom and the aspirants agreed within themselves and notify the party early enough that would be fine.”

Also asked if the issue of a consensus  candidate was deliberated at the meeting Dokpesi said “no, but that did not mean there were no discussion among the aspirants.

“Today on the way forward, a few of the aspirants met in the morning and in the afternoon and discussed which solution can be adopted.”

Dokpesi added that following the meeting  he would go ahead with his campaign and consultation to fulfill his ambition.

The Governor of Ekiti and Chairman of the Forum, Mr Ayodele Fayose, said that the party national convention, schedule for Dec. 9, would be a world class  that other political parties would emulate.

Fayose said that the party had work hard and it has all it takes to win the Saturday Anambra Governorship election.

“We are using this opportunity to demand that the election should be credible. It should not only be credible but seen to be credible.

“We want to believe that Nigeria is of age to organise election that is acceptable at home and internationally, on Nov. 18 in Anambra,” Fayose added

In attendance were the Chairman of the party’s National Caretaker Committee, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, all the PDP governors, except Ebonyi represented by his deputy.

Other aspirants at the meeting were Chief Bode George, Gbenga Daniel, Prince Uche Secondus, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, Jimi Agbaje, Taoheed Adedoja and Rashid Ladoja.

Also in attendance were Ike Ekweremadu, the Deputy President of the Senate; Gabriel Susuwan, former Benue Governor, Adolphus Nwabara and Sule Lamido.

  • I will return party to people, if elected- Gbenga Daniel

I will return party to people, if elected- Gbenga Daniel

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairmanship aspirant, Chief Gbenga Daniel, on Friday promised to bring back the party to the people, if elected at the Dec 9 convention.

Daniel spoke with newsmen in Jalingo while on a campaign tour.

He said that alienation of the people by taking away their power to make decisions was responsible for all the party’s woes.

“Our coming here physically to speak with our people one on one is something unique and part of what we are going to do to return this great party back to the people.

“The motto of the PDP is Power to the People, but over the years, it does appear that power has been taken off the grassroot, and that is the cause of our disaster in the last general election.

“ We are going round, restoring hope, talking to our people, sensitising and giving them the real situation that, now, power has come back to them,” the aspirant said.

Daniel expressed optimism that he would win the chairmanship election, having previously contested and won two governorship elections in Ogun State.

“ Most of my friends and colleagues competing were appointed officers; they did not contest and win elections, and I am sure that will be looked at when the time comes.

“But more than anything else, we have a good party with popularity nationwide, and we are ready to correct the mistakes of the past,” the aspirant said.

Daniel had earlier met with the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Haruna Manu, and other government officials on his arrival.

  • I can’t vie for PDP chairmanship without Obasanjo’s advice – Daniel

I can’t vie for PDP chairmanship without Obasanjo’s advice – Daniel

Former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel, on Friday visited ex – President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Presidential Hilltop Estate, Abeokuta, to solicit  the ex-President’s support for his bid to emerge the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman at the party’s national convention slated for December.

Daniel is expected to declare his intention for the PDP chairmanship position in Abuja on Wednesday.

Other candidates for the position include the former Deputy National Chairman of PDP ( South West), Chief Bode George and the Chairman of Daar Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

Daniel  and his entourage comprising members of the Ogun State Caretaker Committee of the party, former state Chairman of PDP, Elder Joju Fadairo, Hon. Kayode Amusan,  Alhaji Sarafa Ishola and several others, arrived the ex-President’s  home at about 10: 00 a.m. and entered into a close door meeting after waiting for about one hour.

Daniel later told journalists that he came to consult with Obasanjo and seeks his advice on his PDP ambition.

He said: “I’m contesting for the PDP chairmanship position. I’m consulting and Baba is one of the foundation members of the party and we can’t move without him.”

The ex-governor said the PDP is now united and being rejuvenated for better performance in future elections.

“We have been united. You can see all of us are here. We have realised that united we stand, divided we fall,” he added.

  • Daniel: no room for impunity in PDP

Daniel: no room for impunity in PDP

Former Ogun State Governor Gbenga Daniel is a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairmanship aspirant. He spoke with Group Political Editor EMMANUEL OLADESU on his plans for the party, the challenge of reconciliation and preparations for the December 9 National Convention.

What are the lessons which your party has learnt from its protracted leadership crisis?

It is quite clear that the political environment has matured over the years to the extent that people are well informed; they are enlightened. They know their rights. They know their obligations. Hitherto, the environment we had politically was such that all manners of people, caucuses, interests were moderating the direction of politics. There is nothing absolutely wrong in that, provided that such dictations are in line with the aspirations of the people. The responsibility of leadership is to aggregate the opinion of the led and, as it were, put their own experience in place and provide the compass and dictate the direction. But, I think that, over the years, the party, the PDP, has become, if I may put it this way, over-confident. All sorts of mini lords emerged. And they felt that their words were laws, notwithstanding the aspirations of the masses of the people they led. The motto of the PDP is ‘power to the people.’ Democracy is about the people. And when the party at various levels begins to relegate the interests of the mass of the people to the background, it is bound to create a disaster. I think in a nutshell, that has been the experience of the party. But, I believe what is good in all of these is that, quickly, the party has recognized and appreciated the problems and a conscious effort is being made to direct and to reinvent the strategic direction and modus operandis of the party administration.

How can the party avert a rancorous convention in December at Abuja? What are the factors that will guarantee a hitch-free exercise, which is critical to its survival?

It is the same thing I am saying. People have spoken about the kind of politics that we must play; what democracy is all about. I am happy that at a time the word grassroots was introduced into our polity. Bottom up. What people are saying is that they are tired of dictation and imposition. If there will be some kinds of dictation, it should be in tandem with the aspirations of the people. We won’t have problem with the convention, if that principle is adhered to. When you have a convention and the right kind of candidates emerge, you will see that the mass of the people will be excited; they will jubilate. But, if people are trying to play games; the usual games; that it must be A or B or C; or those they think will protect their interests, they may not avert crisis. Like I said, I think the totality of what is on ground is that it is going to be a very exciting convention. I am sure democracy will be at play.

Why do you want to be national chairman of the PDP?

It is in the framework of politics that the aspirations of our people are the same. It is believed that they are basically economic. And, of course, since the collapse of the Berlin Walls and the emergence of China as the bastion of communism, there has been a convergence in the ideological disposition of major political parties that the economy should now be the focus, about the survival of our people. Some of us who have had opportunities to serve at various levels have also discovered this. But, when you look at the process by which people who go into service emerge, sometimes, it is faulty; I don’t want to say most times. And that affects the quality of people who they have presented to serve. And if you intelligently look at the quality of people who had served in our country, from the First Republic, the kind of personality that occupied the space, even up to the Second Republic, I can use my own state as an example. In the days when a person like Senator Abraham Adesanya was a senator, and the kind of personality that we have today, there is a decline. When you look at it across board, it is the same thing. We are witnessing a decline in the quality of representation and leadership. That is so because it is through the party that this emergence occur. So, if we say we want to write the wrongs and create a better environment, get good people to participate and by extension, improve the quality of leadership, then, we need to organize the party. Because the party is the engine room. If you remember the politics of the Second Republic, for example, the UPN under the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo was very well organised. They had their four cardinal programmes-free education, free medical care, rural integration, gainful employment. It was clear. That was the Bible. It was not complex at all. That was the Bible they gave to their governors. Everybody knew the programmes. On the other hand, if you look at the National Party of Nigeria (NPN), they were also quite clear-the concept of one nation and they believed that the agricultural revolution was the way to go. In moving forward, you could expect what to get from the governors of the NPN and the governors of the Unity Party of Nigeria then. The NPP of Dr. Nnamidi Azikiwe also had its own strategic focus. The party must be the engine room of governance. The party must provide the strategic direction. If it does not get it right, the party will suffer. So, the party must be the monitoring agency of governance, based on the party manifesto and what the party promised the people. My own take, therefore, is that, if we agree that the quality of governance is declining, as we look for good individuals and encourage them, there has to be a vehicle and that is the party. And that is why some of us feel that, having had the opportunity to serve in executive position, we know where the issues are. When I was governor of Ogun State, for instance, we looked at issues. It was like nobody was able to pin the PDP down on programmes. It is a liaze fare environment. You are allowed to do what you want. If the PDP administration wants to run free education, you do it, which is okay. But, if you are not careful, there will be no strategic focus. So, what we had to do when I was at the helm of affairs was that, if we had no control over the party across the federation, in Ogun State, we had to take the party constitution and from there created the five pillars of the PDP. It was the five pillars that we clearly explain the five pillars which was in the constitution of the PDP and that was the strategic focus; the strategic direction which we ran the administration when it lasted. If there is no good party, there can’t be any good governance. If we are all passionate about good governance, we have to take more than a passive interest in the party administration.

In concrete terms, what are the reforms you intend to carry out, if you become the national chairman of the PDP?

The very first thing is to return the party to winning ways. And in returning the party to winning ways, the first thing is to create a party that can relate with the aspirations of the people, or put differently, the party must be about the people. Power must be returned to the people. Which means that the era of impunity, which happened in various instances in the last few years, must be relegated to the background. The concept of internal democracy must be practicalised. Everybody must feel a sense of belonging, and not that the party belongs to some cliques or some few people at the various levels. Our party must be the people’s party. There is no doubt that, because of the economic challenges that exist all over, the power of money has become a key factor in the emergence of candidates. But, it is not and it cannot all be about money. Because the sort of things we have experienced is that people continuously, virtually turned the party into a money making business. They see it as a business. For instance, while I was in charge in Ogun State, there was no time when anybody had to pay for ticket as it is experienced these days. It didn’t happen. As a matter of fact, we looked for people that we thought were competent. And if they did not have enough resources, we found ways and means of supporting them. Of course, the elective offices-40 people on the executive and the House of Assembly over a period of eight years, that is 80 people. Some chairmen came on about three occasions; that was 60. Then, we had councillors. The totality of that 300. None of them paid for the ticket and nobody collected money from them. That really is not how to do it. But, what we have these days is: can you pay for the ticket? The extension of that is that it has become a business venture. You don’t have to pay so much money to certain people to get the ticket. Then, you look at the process of recouping your money back. You now have people who go into service, not because they have any passion to serve, but they see it as a business venture. They see it as an investment and they must garner returns from their investment. How can that type of people make any positive change in our country? It is impossible. Part of the reform we think we should be able to do is to reduce the incidence of illicit money collection in the process. And top of that is the fact that in these days and age, many of our people fail to appreciate that when they started playing politics some 15 year ago, at the beginning of this Fourth Republic, which was 1999, and we are now in 2017, it means that children that were born around 1999 now are 16 years olds. So, people who were two, three, four, five years old at that time are now over 20. And they are the people who will vote now. So, it is important that the party should appreciate that there is a passing generation. And the older generation is not as strong as before. There is a preponderance of an explosive youth population, who are in a hurry to decide how they go on with their lives, the kind of environment that they want to live. We have not done enough in appreciating their situation. The level of unemployment is high. Part of what we should do is to begin to act as a party that the young, energetic and fertile youths can relate with. Hitherto, the perception was that it was a party of some old people, who the youths cannot relate with. Part of what some of us are suggesting is the increased participation of younger people in the process. If we are able to do all of these, as we reposition the party, the party should be ready to go places.

What is the assurance that you will beat other contestants-Chief Bode George, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, Jimi Agbaje-at the convention?

Everybody you have mentioned, without exception, are very good party people. All of them are people I have deep respect for. All of them I have had cause to interact with. They are all very intelligent people. They are all very patriotic people. They are all very passionate people. Chief Bode George, you know, is our boss. He is our leader and he will remain as our leader and our boss as long as he alive. Jimi Agbaje is my personal friend of 40 years or so. I am not very close to Professor Adeniran, but I know he is a responsible Nigerian. I have met Prof. Taoheed Adedoja; very intelligent kind of person, very hardworking. Our party is lucky to have the array of very committed people, who want to lead the party. I also think all of them in various ways believe that this party have a chance, as I do. That this party remains the largest party. It is still the beacon of democracy; closest to an ideal democracy in our country. We must look at the interest of some of these patriots. From my own perspective, there is none of them that is not qualified. There is going to be a morning after December 9. All of us must sit together when someone might have won the election and talk about how we want to move the party forward. Once we come to that perspective, there should not be unnecessary tension. My own take is that everybody should go out there in a civilized manner, present themselves to the people, the delegates. The delegates will do justice and somebody will be chosen. We should do it in a determined way. We should put everything into it. But, it should not be a do-or-die affair. We should not go to the field to destroy ourselves. As members of the same party, if I am the chairman of the caretaker committee, I will insist that there must be a minimum level that we can go in this process. We as members of the same party must not despise ourselves. I will not turn people into enemy because we want to be chairman. The onus is on the people who will take the decision tom take an intelligent look at the challenges we have today and look for who can be the best. There is no one who will not be able to do one thing or the other. When you have three, four, five, six people, people should be able to sit down and say that, under the circumstances we find ourselves today, which of these personalities can best achieve the objective. The objective is how to win the election in 2019. I have no doubt in my mind that I have what it takes, the required network, the required network, the required connection to do what should be done.

Gbenga Daniel says no plans to step down

A national chairmanship aspirant of the PDP, Chief Gbenga Daniel, said on Monday in Lagos that he had no plan of stepping down for any of the other contenders.

Reacting to speculations that he might be stepping down for Chief Olabode George, another aspirant for the position, Daniel said he had no intention of stepping down for anybody.

Daniel is a former Governor of Ogun, while George served as a former national deputy chairman of the now opposition PDP.

The zoning of the PDP’s chairmanship position to the South West, five major contenders are currently jostling for the position.

The other contenders are Mr Jimi Agbaje, the 2015 governorship candidate of the PDP in Lagos State, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, a former Minister of Education and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, a former Minister of Sports.

Daniel told reporters that although George was a respected leader of the PDP, he would not back down for the Lagos chief but would see the race to its logical conclusion.

“All the aspirants for this position are my friends and competent people but I am the bridge builder and the best man for the job.

“I will not step down for anyone because I did my consultations during our convention in Port Harcourt and I know so many leaders in Yorubaland who support me.

“People contest for various reasons. Some people contest to enrich their curriculum vitae, some contest to get donations while some run to win.

“It is not a do-or-die affair. It is an in-house contest and I’m running to win so as to bring my experiences to bear on the party and work on re-positioning the party,’’ Daniel said.

According to him, with 2019 around the corner, the PDP cannot afford to make mistakes in choosing its leaders because it is germane to the rebuilding of the party.

“PDP is spread across the length and breadth of Nigeria. The fragmentation in the party cuts across all political parties in Nigeria.

“However, most of our members who defected to other parties left, due to the internal challenges within it.

“The moment those who leave see a new leadership committed to fairness and justice, they will return’’ the former governor said.

On the PDP’s zoning of the presidential slot to the North, Daniel described the decision as sacrosanct, noting that it was commonsense for the party to look for a candidate from the northern part of the country to square up with the APC.

Speaking further, he debunked an alleged strife between him and Sen. Buruji Kashamu from Ogun, stating that they had no personal issues and that they had no quarrels.

Daniel, however, expressed his support for the clamour for Nigeria to be restructured, arguing that the nation’s potential would be maximised when restructured.

“We must begin to examine the system to give equal opportunities to all parts of the country,’’ he added.

Ogun state owes N103b – Amosun

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Thursday broke his silence on the debt profile of the State.

Amosun said, contrary to figures being bandied about the opposition, the state owes N103 billion comprising local and foreign debts.

The Governor disclosed this while addressing teachers at the Arcade ground, Oke-Mosan Governor’s Office, Abeokuta, the state capital during the 2017 edition of World’s Teachers Day.

He explained that the N103b debt included N48.9 billion inherited from his predecessor, Gbenga Daniel, and a foreign loan of about N40 billion incurred by the state since the days of Olabisi Onabanjo.

Amosun also justified the recent loan request of $350 from the World Bank, saying it is only rational to take the loan at 1% interest rate in the interest of state development.

According to him, in a manner akin to the experience of Lagos and Edo states, the loan would be beneficial to his successors as his administration may not access over 10% of the loan before its expiration.

Amosun said: “clearly, every debt is about 103 billion including foreign and local. Even if you take the foreign loan which was about 40 billion, I didn’t take the loan, our forebears did.

“If those ones are grants with 0.5%, they are just like ‘dash’, when people are shouting that we are taking loans, World Bank is not stupid, what they probably have is $1billion and they are giving Ogun State alone 35% of that, $350m dollars at 1% or 1.5%.

“That money is because of love we have for Ogun State, if not, I would have stopped the loan because of these talks, but this is the time, I will not be the administration that will collect this money, at best, we will be given 10% next years because world bank has procedures.

“Officially, Ogun State is owing little over 70billion, the one that is local that can be ascribed to this administration. How can anybody that is rational see a loan of 1% and you’re saying ‘don’t take’, they clearly do not know, and you can’t give what you don’t have.

“My predecessor officially said they left N49.8 billion dollars, that was what was left in the handover note if all that we’ve added to it is about $20 billion, can’t you see what we’ve done?”

He reiterated that he opted to repay the bailout facility for 10 years as against 20 years proposed by the Federal Government because of his financial re-engineering in the state.

Lamido canvasses free, credible convention for PDP

A former governor of Jigawa, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has called the leadership of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) to ensure that the party’s December national convention would be free and fair.

Lamido made the call when he met with ex-PDP Speakers of States Houses of Assembly forum on Thursday in Abuja.

He said that anybody that emerged as PDP chairman would enjoy the required support from all party’s members.

Commenting on Gov. Ayo Fayose’s declaration for presidency in 2018, Lamido said that it was the constitutional right of the governor to contest like every other Nigerians.

He said that Fayose had the right to contest even though, the party had zone the 2019 presidential ticket to the North.

He also advised PDP members to be courageous in the face of what he described as “persecution”.

“We need people to be courageous.”

He reiterated his determination to remain in PDP, saying “no matter how hard I try, if I move to All Progressive Congress ( APC ), my soul will not follow me.”

Lamido added that without the party members who joined the APC, the party would not have defeated the Peoples Democratic Party in the last general elections.

The former Minister of Foreign Affairs said that 2019 would be a defining moment for Nigeria.

The former Ogun State Governor, Mr Gbenga Daniel also met with the forum.
