    Good times return for Gbenga Obasanjo’s former wife

    It is public knowledge that Moji, a former wife of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s son, Gbenga,  had one of the messiest divorce cases in the nation’s legal history. As if it was not bad enough that her marriage crashed like a castle with a weak foundation, her former husband accused her of the most bizarre brand of infidelity.

    But life seems to be on the bounce again for Moji. She has got another chance to seize the limelight again with the recent swearing in of her current husband, Mustapha Akinkunmi, as a commissioner in Lagos State.

    Obasanjo’s son had shocked the landscape as he regaled the public with the story of Moji’s alleged romance with his father in order to get favours from him as the sitting president. Moji vehemently denied her ex-husband’s claims and wept publicly as she strove to tell whoever cared to listen that there was no iota of truth in the allegation.

    Her ordeal grew worse as neither her father nor her father-in-law made any attempt to address the furore created by Gbenga’s revelations when he went to a court to file for dissolution of the marriage.

    But it seems the dark days are finally over for Mojisola and her current husband appears to be what she had been hoping for.

As wife of the son of an ex-president, Moji had the world at the tip of her dainty fingers and lived life like it is golden. Unfortunately, fate dealt her a cruel blow with the crash of the marriage. While female elite have blamed the media for the crash of her marriage, Moji Akinwunmi is determined not to continue to live a life of perpetual regret.

    At present, the beautiful socialite has decided to take a much-needed sabbatical from the social scene, avoiding the prying eyes of the media and savouring the bliss of her second marriage to Professor Abiodun Akinwumi. Her decision to keep a low profile can easily be credited to the maturity that comes with age and motherhood. The debacle of the past has been forgotten and Moji has decided to watch the frenzy of the Nigerian social scene from the comfort of her home. Perhaps, the pressure of raising a new family led to her fading off the social scenes or she is simply taking cautionary measures to protect her new-found bliss. Contrary to speculations that all may not be well in her home, it has been revealed that Moji has impressively metamorphosed into a great mother and wife.

    GBENGA Obasanjo, the second son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has a burden. He is one of the eligible bachelors in town after he made a revelation, which startled the entire nation some years back that eventually led to the divorce between him and his ex-wife, Moji.

    Most people, we gathered, have since kept Gbenga at arms’ length. Sources said he now lives in the United States since his duplex residence in GRA, Ikeja, owned by his father where he used to live has since been leased out.

    For some time now, Gbenga Obasanjo has been off the social radar. The medical doctor son of the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has been savouring a new life with his new wife since he called it quits with his former wife, Moji Onabanjo, in one of Nigeria’s most sordid divorce cases.

    Gbenga, an epidemologist, was once reported to have taken a new wife in a low-key ceremony attended by only a few of his trusted friends.

    Gbenga’s name found its way into public consciousness last October when an Associated Airline plane bearing the remains of the late former Ondo State governor, Dr. Segun Agagu crashed, claiming many lives. He was rumoured to be among those who died in the crash until it emerged that he did not make the trip. Nothing else has been heard about him since then.
