    Gbenro Ajibade, Rahama Sadau to host BON 2017

    With the date for the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards inching closer, two of Nollywood’s finest, Gbenro Ajibade and Rahama Sadau, have been unveiled as hosts.

    Scheduled for December 16 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the exciting duo are expected to direct affairs at the reward platform being hosted this year by the Senator Ibikunle Amosun-helmed Ogun Sate government.

    Seun Oloketuyi, Executive Producer of BON, said; “The choice of Rahama and Gbenro was a painstakingly debated one. Our criteria were diversity, versatility and youth; some other names came up for consideration but Gbenro and Rahama tick the boxes. And we are happy at their enthusiasm and acceptance to be a part of history.”

    A successful model cum actor, Gbenro, is one of the more popular acts in Multichoice-sponsored Tinsel. The Biology graduate of the Benue State University has also featured in several home videos including The Wages, Twisted Throne, Gbomo Gbomo Express and 10 Days in Suncity among others. Married to fellow thespian, Osas Ighodaro, with whom he has a baby girl.

    One of the breakout stars of Kannywood who have successfully transited to mainstream Nollywood, winsome Rahama Sadau is a Business Administration graduate of the Kaduna Polytechnic.

    Crowned “Face of Kannywood” at the City People Entertainment Awards 2016, Rahama has featured in popular soaps like Super Story, MTV’s Shuga and Sons of the Caliphate while playing prominent roles in movies like Ajuwaya, Tatu and The Accidental Spy.

    Meanwhile, as the organisers of the award released the nominees list, focus is on the Best Actress category where Omotola Jalade Ekehinde (Alter Ego), will slug it out with younger, equally tested actors like Mitchell Dede (What Lies Within), Ufuoma Mcdermott (The Women), Rahamatu Sadau (Tatu) and Esther Audu (Inikpi).

    In unveiling the nominees, Head of the Screeners Committee, Niran Adedokun, said, “This year, we had over 128 films of which 120 including 113 feature films, seven short films and two TV series were screened.

    Honcho of Made Men Music Group, Ubi Franklin, exchanged marital vows with Nollywood actress, Lilian Escrow last Friday.
    Accompanied by family, friends and industry colleagues, Franklin who is also manager to music superstar, Iyanya, performed the traditional rites at Esoro‘s family home in Magodo, Lagos.
    Notable guests who graced the ceremony include Gbenro Ajibade, DJ Jimmy Jatt and Yomi Casual.

    Tinsel co-stars, Osas Ighodaro and Gbenro Ajibade are getting married.

     The couple have been dating for about a year and Gbenro proposed to Osas in the US.

    Tinsel has brought Gbenro and Osas just as it brought  Florence and Iyke Okechukwu, as well as Chris Attoh and Damilola Adegbite,  who also met on the set of the Mnet Tv soap, Tinsel.

    POPULAR actor, Gbenro Ajibade, of an MNET drama series, may have been struck by Cupid’s arrows going by the way he carries on with another ex-beauty queen cum model, Osas Ighodaro. Although the affair is still kept under wraps, those close to the lovebirds said the union may be for keeps.

    Osas, former Miss Black USA 2010, has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism & dual minor degrees in Entrepreneurship & Theatre from Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Acting from Pace University.
