Amagbein congratulates Gov Diri on Renewed Hope appointment

Niger Delta ex-agitator, General Endurance Amagbein, has congratulated Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, on his appointment as South-South Coordinator of the National Steering Committee for the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme.

Amagbein commended President Bola Tinubu for finding Diri worthy of the appointment, describing it as an opportunity to bring development closer to rural communities through sustainable projects and community-based interventions.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, the ex-agitator, popularly known as Adaka Boro II, expressed confidence in Diri’s capacity to deliver on his new assignment, saying the governor prioritizes grassroots development over politics.

He described the appointment as “a square peg in a square hole,” noting that Diri has consistently focused on rural development since assuming office, especially through the construction of the three senatorial roads in Bayelsa State.

Amagbein also congratulated the governor on his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged him to unite party members and resolve existing crises within the party as he did in the PDP.

“In 2019 and 2020, many people were aggrieved and left the PDP, but when Douye Diri took over, he unified the party and the state. Those who vowed never to return came back without grudges—that’s the kind of leader he is,” Amagbein said.

He called on Diri to bring all APC stakeholders together to end factional disputes and restore harmony in the party, paving the way for lasting peace and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
