Tuggar woos investors as 20 get German scholarship

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has called on foreign investors to invest in Nigeria, saying it has enormous investment opportunities for them.

This is contained in a statement by Special Assistant to the minister on Media and Communications Strategy, Alkasim Abdulkadir, yesterday in Abuja.

Abdulkadir said Tuggar spoke in Germany, at an event to celebrate  scholarship to 20 Nigerians to study at European School of Management and Technology (ESMT), Berlin.

He said the minister reiterated achievements made by President Tinubu to reposition Nigeria and create an economic haven for foreign investors.

Tuggar enumerated the administration’s efforts in this regard to include embarking on microeconomic reforms, removal of subsidy on PMS and unifying the currency exchange rate.

“There is the need for the Global North to invest in infrastructure and not dwell on geopolitical considerations,” he said.

The spokesman said he applauded ESMT for granting scholarship to the 20 Nigerians.

He said Tuggar hailed the students for receiving the award, noting they would contribute to knowledge and skill development for Nigeria’s growth.

“The scholarship programme was announced at a special dinner organised by Lars Windhorst, a German entrepreneur and co-founder of Sapinda Group and owner of fashion company, La Perla, in Berlin.

“The event, held at China Club in Berlin, was attended by leaders, including President of ESMT Berlin, Jörg Rocholl.”

Abdulkadir said Tuggar appreciated Lars Windhorst for the kind gesture.
