    Warri agog for Glo Festival of Joy promo

    Delta State’s entertainment hub, Warri, was agog with excitement yesterday as the Board Chairman of the state’s Security Trust Fund, Mr. Daniel Mayuku, became the first winner of the much coveted Toyota Prado in Globacom’s Festival of Joy promotion.

    Mayuku received the keys to his prize at Gloworld office at Delta Mall in Warri from the state’s House of Assembly Speaker Emomotimi Guwor, and the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area, Chief Anthony Ofoni.

    Friends, admirers and other Glo subscribers joined in the celebration, which turned into a carnival in the city with electrifying performances by Ema Dance Troupe.

    After getting his car, Mayuku said: “When I received the first call that I won a Prado in Glo Festival of Joy promo, I believed it was a scam and I immediately told the caller not to call me again. However, after a few minutes, I started receiving calls from friends and I decided to call my friends in Glo and they confirmed it.

    “I was in disbelief; I thought it was a scam. I jokingly asked for the car immediately and I was told to come to Glo office for verification.

    “Today, the jeep has just been presented to me. Globacom is truly Nigerian, a network that delights its subscribers every year. They are still the best.”

    Other lucky winners also went home with tricycles (Keke), power generating sets, sewing machines and grinding machines.

    Ovueve Efejiro, a native of Ughelli, who won a Keke, said: “I just won Keke through Festival of Joy promo. I am very grateful to Glo. This Keke will help my family. My brother will use it for commercial purpose immediately.”

    Also, a generator winner, Felix Gabriel, thanked Globacom for remembering Nigerians every year in its annual promotions.

    Speaking at the presentation, Guwor, who was also the special guest, said: “Globacom is a network that is known for giving. Over the years, many Nigerians have been empowered by Glo. The people of my constituency in Warri South West and the entire Delta people are grateful to Glo.

    “We will continue to use Glo. I also want to be part of the winners one day soon. So, I will ensure that my line is always on and ready. Kudos to Glo and Dr. Mike Adenuga. Please, keep on empowering Nigerians.”

    The Head of Licensing and Operation at the Delta State office of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Mrs. Anwuli Efejuku, hailed Globacom for the transparent nature of the promo.

    She said: “We witnessed the raffle draw few days ago here in Warri where it was conducted in the presence of everyone. Today, the winners that emerged have been presented their prizes. Congratulations to all the winners.”                

    To participate in the Festival of Joy promo, new and existing subscribers should dial *611# to opt into the promo and to keep recharging.

    He added that new subscribers can participate immediately by purchasing a new SIM, registering it and dialing *611#.

    “Customers are required to recharge up to N100,000 cumulatively during the promo period to qualify for the draw for the Prado Jeep; N50,000 cumulative recharge for Kia Picanto; N10,000 in a month for tricycle and N5,000 total recharge in a month to win a generator.

    For the sewing machine, a total recharge of N2,500 in a month is required, while for grinding machine, a recharge of N500 in a day will be eligible for the draw.

    New subscribers can participate immediately by purchasing a new SIM, registering it and dialing *611#, Globacom explained.

    Tsado wins first house in Glo Festival of Joy promo

    An oil and gas engineer, Moses Tsado, has become the first winner of a premium house in Globacom’s on-going Festival of Joy consumer-reward promotion targeted at its high networth customers across the country.

    Tsado, who is a director of Antan Producing Limited, had emerged winner from the first draw held in Lagos on Tuesday. He was presented the keys to the house yesterday by Oba Ojomu of Lakowe, Oba Abdulhakkem Olusegun Ojomu, brand influencer, Nnenna Ekere, and Glo officials.

    Speaking about his fortune, the 57-year-old father of two Niger State born, said he was very so excited when he got a call from Glo officials but was initially skeptical if it was indeed true, given the spate of scams that abound.

    He said: “I got a call from a staff member of Globacom telling me that I won a house in the ongoing promo and I was very excited about it, but my instinct prompted me to cross check so that I will not fall into the hand of scammers. Immediately I called a good friend who works in Globaom and he assured me that all was well. It was after the confirmation that I drove down to meet the officials of the company and the rest is history. To God be the glory.”

    Tsado, who has not made up his mind on what use to put the house, commended Globacom for its total commitment to the welfare of Nigerians through numerous promotions in the last 20 years that had helped millions of Nigerians.

    Mr. Lawrence Odediran, Globacom’s Retail Chief, Lagos, said the presentation was in fulfillment of the company’s commitment to Nigerians when the promo was unveiled. He added that it was also a confirmation of the company’s resolve to constantly add value to the lives of its subscribers.

    He disclosed that the promo is open to all new and existing (prepaid and post-paid) subscribers, adding that they can qualify for the draw by recharging N50,000 or more in a month to stand a chance to win a Business Class ticket or a recharge of N100,000 or more to stand a chance of winning a Premium Bungalow in  Nigeria. “The more you recharge, the more your chances of winning”, he concluded.

    The Coordinator, National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Lagos Office, Mrs. Priscilla Onuzulu, said at the event that giving back to subscribers has always been in the DNA of Globacom and that this event is not an exception.     On her part, the representative of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), Mrs Ijeoma Bassey, said the Festival of Joy promo is adding value to the life of Glo subscribers as seen in the presentation of first house prize to the winner. She expressed satisfaction that Globacom has been following the rules and that the regulatory body is satisfied with the promo.
