The Glory Lucas Foundation, a nonprofit organization that focuses on education, mental health, and other critical sectors has officially launched its #ProjectFeedAMind initiative, marking the beginning of a year-long campaign aimed at addressing mental health challenges across Nigeria.

The inaugural event took place at Girls Junior High School, Agege, Lagos, where the foundation’s team engaged with students through interactive sessions designed to educate and empower them about mental well-being.

The programme, which kicks off a nationwide mission, seeks to foster a cultural shift in how mental health is perceived and prioritised.

Expensive Lucas, CEO of the Glory Lucas Foundation, emphasised the importance of continued awareness and education on mental health. In a conversation with attendees, Lucas stated, “We can never have enough sensitization on mental health, and this consciousness is what has prompted the birth of #ProjectFeedAMind.”

As part of the event, students learned the basics of mental health, understood its integral role in overall health, and were introduced to practical tools for self-care. The day’s activities included an open dialogue where students could share personal experiences and ask questions in a safe, supportive space.

A highlight of the event was a message delivered by guest speaker Boluwatife Olukolade, a psychologist and psychotherapist, who stressed that “there’s no health without mental health.” Through engaging discussions and relatable examples, Olukolade reinforced the idea that mental well-being is as essential as physical health and should be nurtured and protected.

The event culminated in the distribution of thoughtful prizes and motivational items to inspire students to take care of their mental health.

The initiative will visit schools and institutions across Nigeria, helping to raise awareness and provide accessible resources for mental health support.
