    ‘Badoo’ bags Best Boxer Prize at GOtv Boxing Night 32

    Teenage boxing sensation, Raheem ‘Badoo’ Animashaun, emerged as the star of GOtv Boxing Night 32 on Boxing Day, clinching the N1 million cash prize and the prestigious Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy for the Best Boxer of the Night.

    The 17-year-old delivered an outstanding performance, securing a technical knockout victory over Hammed ‘Ese’ Ganiyu in their light welterweight bout held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos. 

    Badoo set the tone early by knocking down his opponent in the first round before sealing the win decisively in the sixth round. This victory marks Badoo’s second consecutive Best Boxer award, having previously won the title at the 31st edition in May.

    The night, filled with thrilling action, music, and comedy, featured four other exciting bouts. In the only title fight, Rasheed ‘Fally Boy’ Adeyemo was crowned the new national super welterweight champion after a unanimous decision victory over Lateef “Enuoshe” Azeez.

    The biggest upsets of the evening came when Jafaru  ‘Tanka’ Suleiman knocked out Taiwo ‘Gentle Boy’ Olowu in the second round of their national super welterweight fight.

    The national super flyweight challenge between Akintunde Abolade and Emmanuel Abimbola ended in a draw, while Sikiru ‘Omo Iya Eleja’ Shogbesan delivered a thrilling performance to secure a unanimous decision victory over Imole ‘System’ Oloyede in their national super featherweight fight.

    Super featherweight boxer, Sikiru “Omo Iya Eleja” Shogbesan, has set his sights on claiming the prestigious Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy and the N1 million cash prize that will be won by the best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 32.

    The event is scheduled for December 26 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos. Omo Iya Eleja will face Imole “System” Oloyede in a national super featherweight challenge bout.

    The event will provide six electrifying bouts and live entertainment by Afrobeats stars Mayorkun, YKB, and the comedic brilliance of MC Lively.

    Speaking from his training camp in Lagos, Omo Iya Eleja reflected on his journey and his determination to achieve a long-held goal.

     “I am a testament to the impact of GOtv Boxing Night. I turned professional on this platform, but I have yet to win the best boxer prize. This year, my aim is to break the jinx. This fight is more than just a challenge for me. It’s my chance to win in style and claim the star prize,” he said.

    Omo Iya Eleja has a record of 17 wins, three losses, and one draw from his 21 professional fights.

    Also scheduled for the night is a national super welterweight title fight between Lateef “Enuoshe” Azeez and Rasheed “Fally Boy” Adeyemo, while Raheem “Badoo” Animashaun face off with Hammed “Ese” Ganiyu in the light welterweight category.

    The other bouts will see Akintunde Abolade square up against Emmanuel Abimbola in the national super flyweight category; Taiwo “Gentle Boy” Olowu will confront Jafaru “Tanka” Suleiman in a national super welterweight challenge, while Kehinde Owoeye and Emmanuel Bamidele will face-off in the amateur flyweight category.

    GOtv Boxing Night 32 is organised by Flykite Productions and proudly sponsored by GOtv. The event will be broadcast live on SuperSport channels, reaching audiences in over 50 African countries.

    Explosive featherweight boxer Jafaru Armor Tanka’ Suleiman has declared that his aim is to floor his opponent,  Taiwo ‘Gentle Boy’ Olowu at GOtv Boxing Night 32.

    The two knockout specialists will face each other in a super featherweight challenge bout at the event scheduled for Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, on December 26.

    Tanka, who suffered the first defeat of his professional career earlier this year, said Gentle Boy is an opponent he ranks highly , promising to dispatch defeat him by knockout.

     “Olowu is not at my level and he’s not even on the list of opponents I consider tough.  My name and record speak for me. I don’t talk much. I will knock him out like I always do opponents,” he said.

    Tanka has a record of 16 wins and 13 knockouts, while Gentle Boy boasts of 18 wins, 12 knockouts, and three losses from his 21 professional fights.

    The night will feature five other bouts with music and comic performances in between Raheem ‘Badoo’ Animashaun and Hammed ‘Ese’ Ganiyu fight.

    Badoo vows to brush aside Ese at GOtv Boxing Night 32

    Raheem ‘Badoo’ Animashaun, the newest winner of the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy and best boxer prize at GOtv Boxing Night, has pledged to punish his opponent, Hammed ‘Ese’ Ganiyu at the December edition of the show.

    The fight headlines the  Boxing Jamz Music carnival, billed for the Tafawa Balewa Square,  Lagos on December 26. The night promises an exciting blend of top-tier boxing, electrifying music performances by Afrobeats artists YKB and Mayorkun, and comic performances by MC Lively.

    Badoo took home the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy and a cash prize of N1 million as the best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 31 in May.  Speaking from his Lagos training camp on Monday, the confident ‘Badoo’ channelled the bravado of his mentor, Muhammad Ali. He promised a dominant performance, warning his opponent of a punishing defeat.

     “I am the youngest WABU title holder, and I will not shy away from any challenger in my category. I assure you, Ese won’t last the distance. I will show no mercy. I will punish him for daring to challenge me,” Badoo declared.

    Badoo boasts an impressive record of five knockouts in 11 professional fights and remains undefeated. His opponent, Ese, enters the ring with a less favorable record of six losses in 10 fights.
