    Flykite Productions, organisers of GOtv Boxing Night, have announced 26 December as the date for the 34th  edition of the event. It will hold at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

    Tagged “Boxing Jams Music,” the year-end edition will once again blend elite professional boxing with live musical performances. Fans can look forward to thrilling bouts across weight divisions and electrifying performances by some of Nigeria’s top entertainers.

    Flykite Productions’ Chief Operating Officer, Bamidele Johnson, said the forthcoming edition will build on the event’s tradition of combining sport and music in a festival-like atmosphere. He assured fans of an unforgettable Boxing Day experience, with added entertainment elements planned.

     “GOtv Boxing Night 34 will once again deliver the best of both worlds of top-class boxing and live music. We are committed to giving fans a truly memorable Boxing Day experience at Tafawa Balewa Square,” he said.

    Over the years, Boxing Jams Music has grown into the country’s biggest sport-entertainment spectacle, hosting title bouts sanctioned by continental and global bodies alongside live performances by top acts such as Burna Boy, Teni, Mayorkun, Zlatan and Wande Coal.

    Other top fights include a national super bantamweight clash between Durotimi Agboola and Sodiq “Happy Boy” Adeleke, and a light welterweight duel between Tobiloba “Silent Assassin” Ijomoni and Azeez “Latest” Ayobami.

    GOtv Boxing Night 33: Sensational Badoo to battle  Beninese veteran Coffi

    Nigeria’s teenage boxing sensation and University of Lagos Law undergraduate, Raheem ‘Badoo’ Animashaun, is set to return to action at GOtv Boxing Night 33 on April 26th , where he will face Gbodja Jean Coffi of the Benin Republic.

     The bout is one of the seven scheduled for the event, which will take place at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

    Badoo, who has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most promising boxing talents, comes into the fight with an unblemished record of 14 wins from 14 fights, including eight knockouts. He was named Best Boxer at the last two editions of the event and left a strong impression at GOtv Boxing Night 32, where he dispatched the experienced Hammed ‘Ese’ Ganiyu via technical knockout.

    The teenager will now go up against another experienced opponent in Coffi, a veteran from the Benin Republic. Coffi, nicknamed ‘Lit the Fire’, has recorded two wins in his last three outings. His most recent fight was against Congo’s Chadrack Kalala Mbenga.

    Speaking ahead of the bout, Bamidele Johnson, Chief Operating Officer of Flykite Productions, said the encounter exemplifies the competition and growth that GOtv Boxing Night aims to deliver. He described Badoo as one of the most exciting young boxers in Nigeria and said the clash with Coffi would be a significant test of his ability to adapt against a seasoned opponent.

    Also on the card is an international lightweight contest between Ghana’s Emmanuel Otoo and Nigeria’s Tosin ‘Sojar Boy’ Osaigbovo. Other notable pairings include William ‘Kaki’ Amosu against Emmanuel  ‘Ability Famous’  Abimbola in the light welterweight category, and national contests involving Segun Gbobaniyi, Sodiq Oyakojo, Tobiloba Ijomoni, and Sodiq Adeleke.

    Top Ghanaian lightweight boxer, Emmanuel Otoo, will face rising Nigeria’s Tosin ‘Soldier Boy’  Osaigbovo, in an international lightweight showdown at GOtv Boxing Night 33, scheduled for April 26 at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium.

    Otoo, an experienced campaigner with nine wins and nine knockouts from 15 fights, brings power and grit to the ring as he looks to upset the undefeated Osaigbovo, who boasts a flawless 11-0 record with eight knockouts.

    The Ghanaian has vowed to make a statement on Nigerian soil, but Osaigbovo remains confident that he will extend his perfect streak in front of his home crowd. The fight will see a renewal of the age-old Nigeria-Ghana sporting rivalry.

    Beyond this clash, the night promises more fireworks with bouts featuring Sikiru ‘Omo Iya Eleja’ Shogbesan against Segun Gbobaniyi also in the lightweight division. Also on the card, William  ‘Kaki’ Amosu faces Emmanuel ‘Ability Famous’ Abimbola in a light welterweight battle, while national super featherweight champion, Lateef ‘Latest’ Azeez faces Sodiq Oyakojo.

    GOtv Boxing Night 33: Graduate pugilist Shogbesan vows to punish  Gbobaniyi

    Sikiru ‘Omo Iya Eleja’ Shogbesan, Nigeria’s  first graduate boxer, has vowed to use his knowledge of technology and biology to floor Segun Gbobaniyi when they clash at GOtv Boxing Night 33 on 26 April at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

    Shogbesan, who was discovered at GOtv Boxing NextGen Search, the talent discovery and nurturing initiative that has produced many top boxers, holds a Higher National Diploma in Microbiology, Ordinary National Diploma in science laboratory technology, graduating with Upper Credit at both levels, and has completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps programme.

    Speaking at his training base in Lagos, Shogbesan said his knowledge of technology and biology has always helped in the ring and it would be put to use against Gbogbaniyi against whom he would fight in the lightweight category.

     “Segun (Gbobaniyi) does not know what is coming. Even if he does, he will not know how to deal with it. In the ring, I am guided by knowledge of technology and biology, both of which I studied in school. Both fields help me in determining what to do when I am in the ring. Segun will not go beyond three rounds. Mark my words,” he boasted.

    In the super featherweight division, Sodiq Oyakojo will face Lateef ‘Latest’Azeez. The super bantamweight category will see a fight between Durotimi Agboola and Sodiq Adeleke.

    The event will stage to light welterweight bouts. One will feature William ‘Kaki’ Amosu and Emmanuel ‘Ability’ Abimbola, while the other will see a clash between Tobiloba Ijomoni and Hassan Kareem. There will also be a female super flyweight female bout Ayisat Oriyomi and Olofintunyi Iyanuoluwa.

    Organisers of the  boxing extravaganza , Flykite Productions, yesterday announced  the date  for the upcoming bouts. 

    The event will feature household names on the boxing landscape like Sikiru “Omo Iya Eleja” Shogbesan, Nigeria’s first graduate boxer; Williams “Kaki” Amosu, Sodiq Adeleke, Sadiq Oyakojo, Lateef “Latest” Azeez and female boxing sensation, Ayisat Oriyomi.

    The statement quoted Bamidele Johnson, Flykite Productions Chief Operating Officer, saying that arrangements are still being made to add more boxers to the bout line-up. He noted that the boxers selected are some of the best in their weight divisions and are ready to give a good account of themselves on the event day.

     “Many of the boxers here are high on the local and continental rankings. They are young, hungry for glory and have the talent to achieve their goals. We are going to have really cracking fights that will delight the fans,” Johnson stated.

    The boxers signed their respective contracts on Wednesday at a brief but classy ceremony at Flykite Productions’ office in Lagos.

    Flykite Productions, the organisers of GOtv Boxing Night, have assured fans of robust security arrangements for the 32nd edition of the premier boxing event, scheduled to take place on December 26 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

    Themed “Boxing Jamz Music,” the event promises an electrifying blend of intense boxing action and top-tier entertainment. Fans can look forward to live performances by the iconic R&B group Style Plus, Afrobeats artists Mayorkun and YKB, and a comedy session by the popular MC Lively.

    In an official statement, Flykite Productions emphasised their commitment to ensuring a secure and orderly experience for all attendees.

    “Over the past 31 editions of GOtv Boxing Night, we have maintained an impeccable security record. The safety of our fans remains our utmost priority.     Also scheduled for the night is a national super welterweight title fight between Lateef “Enuoshe” Azeez and Rasheed “Fally Boy” Adeyemo,  while Raheem “Badoo” Animashaun face off with Hammed “Ese” Ganiyu in the light welterweight category.

    The other bouts will see Sikiru “Omo Iya Eleja” Shogbesan face Imole “System” Oloyede in a thrilling national super featherweight challenge; Akintunde Abolade square up against Emmanuel Abimbola in the national super flyweight category; Taiwo “Gentle Boy” Olowu will confront Jafaru “Tanka” Suleiman in a national super welterweight challenge, while Kehinde Owoeye and Emmanuel Bamidele will face-off in the amateur flyweight category.

    West African Boxing Union (WABU) super featherweight champion, Taiwo  ‘Gentle Boy’  Olowu, has expressed confidence ahead of his clash with Jafaru ‘Armor Tanka’ Suleiman at GOtv Boxing Night 32, scheduled for December 26 at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

    The challenge bout is one of six thrilling fights lined up for the event, themed “Boxing Jamz Music”, which promises an exciting blend of boxing and entertainment.

    Gentle Boy is looking to relive the glory of his title-winning night at GOtv Boxing Night 31.

     “This fight takes place exactly a year after I won the WABU title. That night was the highlight of my career, and it still feels like yesterday. It gives me the morale booster I need. The fight against Alidu Sulemana was tough, but his style is similar to Tanka’s. That experience has given me the confidence to claim another victory,” he said.

    Olowu boasts an impressive professional record of 18 wins (12 by knockout) and three losses from 21 fights. Armor Tanka enters the ring with an equally formidable record of 16 wins (13 by knockout) and just one loss.

    The night will feature five other bouts with music performances by Mayorkun and YKB, and comic interludes by MC Lively.

    Ahead of their much-anticipated clash at GOtv Boxing Night on December 26, Hammed ‘Ese’ Ganiyu has labelled Raheem ‘Baddo’ Animashaun a talkative who is yet to face a true ring test.

    The two rising stars are set to square off in one of six electrifying bouts at the Boxing Jamz edition of GOtv Boxing Night, scheduled to take place at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

    Animashaun, 19, enters the fight with momentum, having clinched the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy and a cash prize of N 1 million as the best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 31 in May. Confident in his abilities, Baddo had vowed to punish Ese for daring to challenge him.

    But Ese has dismissed Baddo’s threats, calling him untested and unprepared for what’s to come.

    “I like his confidence and his talk, but he hasn’t faced anyone like me,” Ese remarked. “He hasn’t lost because he hasn’t been to war. On December 26, he’ll step into the ring and experience punches that will daze him. He’ll finally know what a real fight feels like.”

    Super welterweight boxer, Lateef  Enuoshe Azeez, has vowed to exact revenge on Rasheed  Fally Boy Adeyemo when they meet at GOtv Boxing Night 32 for the national super welterweight title fight.

    The bout is one of the six lined up for the event, which will be held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, on December 26.

    Tagged  ‘Boxing Jams Music’, the event is a fusion of sport and entertainment, as it will feature live performances by musicians, Mayorkun AKA  ‘The Mayor of Lagos’ and YKB, as well as comedian, MC Lively. 

    In September, Enuoshe lost to the more experienced Fally Boy in via a unanimous decision. Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated fight, Enuoshe said he is convinced that he now has the perfect opportunity to not just avenge his loss but also to win the national title.

     “I have two objectives. One is to avenge my defeat a few months ago, while the other is to win the title. Both are very important and one is dependent on the other. This is the fight that matters because this is the one people will remember the most. I was close the last time. Now, I want to get the job done,” he said. 

    Fally Boy is undefeated as a professional, with eight of his 14 wins coming via knockouts. Enuoshe won one and lost the other of his two professional fights.

    Also scheduled for the night is the light welterweight category fight between Raheem  Badoo Animashaun and Hammed  Ese Ganiyu. The super featherweight category will see Jafaru  Armour Tanka Suleiman duel with Taiwo Gentle Boy  Olowu.

    Sikiru  Omo Iya Eleja Shogbesan will confront Imole  System Oloyede in the national super featherweight challenge; Akintunde Abolade will square up against Emmanuel Abimbola in the national super flyweight category, while Kehinde Owoeye and Emmanuel Bamidele will face-off in the amateur flyweight category.
