    Don, media expert seek more investment in education

    Prof. Grace Oloukoi of LeadCity University, Ibadan, a media expert, Olawale Ogunbusola, Chief Nursing Officer at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Mrs. Joy Taiwo and others have urged the government to prioritise investment in education.

    They said quality education was key to securing a brighter future for the country, adding that investing in education would have benefits, including reduced poverty, improved health care and increased economic growth across the country.

    Speaking in Ibadan at ‘Journalist Olawale Ogunbusola School Competition and Awards Season III’, Oloukoi, a Professor of Urban Planning and Environmental Management, said education empowered individuals to contribute to the society, driving innovation and progress.

    She said it was imperative that government should allocate sufficient funds to education, improve infrastructure and enhance teachers’ training.

    The convener of the event, Ogunbusola, said by prioritising education, Nigeria could unlock its potential and secure a brighter future for generations to come, noting that as the country strived for growth and development, it was essential that education should remain at the forefront of government’s agenda.

    The event was attended by the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Interfaith, Rev. Femi Ibikunle, Chief Executive Officer, Prince FM, Ibadan, Dr. Babatunde Balogun, media personalities, among others.
