    Valencia, Granada fight over Ilori

Granada and Valencia will fight it out for Liverpool youngster Tiago Abiola Ilori, according to reports in the British press.

The Liverpool Echo revealed on Thursday morning that El Grana and Los Che are keen on taking the defender on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old, who signed for the Anfield outfit from Sporting Lisbon, has failed to make a first team appearance this term.

As such, Brendan Rodgers’ men will allow the centre-back to leave for more playing time, with the Liga pair said to be heavily interested.

It is claimed that Granada are already in talks with Ilori about a switch, but Valencia may come in with an 11th hour bid of their own before the end of the window.

Granada forward, Odion Ighalo, is eyeing a move to the English Premier League at the end of the current season, as former club of Victor Moses Wigan and Swansea are keen on getting the services of the player.

The 23-year-old is Granada’s top scorer last season, and currently on loan at Spanish side after finding his first-team chances limited at Udinese, Futaa.com reports.

Swansea and Wigan are both thought to be weighing up moves for the skillful forward and Ighalo believes he is perfectly suited to the style of football in England.

“I would be very happy to play in England and it is a dream for most players to play in the Premier League,” Futaa.com quoted Ighalo as saying at Sky Sports.

“It has been one of my dreams to come to England and I hope that can happen this summer.

“I have heard some clubs are interested in signing me and we will see what happens at the end of the season.

“I think my style of football would be suited for England and I think I could be a success there.

“I have played in Italy and Spain, but England is where is want to go and play having heard so many good things about the country.”

Ighalo failed to add to his tally of three goals scored so far in the Spanish League, as Granada again spurned goal scoring chances in a 1-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao last Monday.

    Granada coach queries Ighalo’s quality

Odion Ighalo’s manager at Granada, Lucas Alcaraz, has conceded that his forwards lack quality, because they struggled in the final third as they played out a goalless draw away to Real Zaragoza.

The newly-appointed Coach, however, placed importance on the team picking a point and recording a clean sheet.

“It was a game of two halves, although perhaps it belonged more to the home side Zaragoza,” admitted Alcaraz after Monday’s game. “The target was a clean sheet and to pick up some points. There were a few chances created and a lot of intensity, but, perhaps, we lacked a bit of quality in attack. In the Primera Division it is difficult to score goals, the stats say that this is one area in which we must improve.”

Ighalo is the main striker for Granada, and the Nigerian has scored only three goals in the La Liga this season.
