Agency decries rule of law violation

Greater Aba Development Authority has faulted the unsealing of a building housing Enyimba TV and FM station.

It vowed to enforce the rule of law, regardless of who is involved.

Head of Information Unit/Public Relations Officer, Chibuzo Amaechi, who spoke for the General Manager, Uche Ukeje, said: “In 2024, GADA, in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities, sealed the property for violating building regulations.

“Following this action, a court injunction was issued directing parties to maintain the status quo.

“In strict compliance with the injunction, GADA team has not visited the site for the past three months.

“However, it came to our attention that the owner unlawfully unsealed the premises without court order or lawful authority.

“On August 12, officers the Police visited the site to enforce the law. This operation was carried out peacefully, with no incidents of assault, harassment, or arrest.

“The management of GADA reiterates that this action is not a witch-hunt against any individual or organisation.

“Nobody is above the law, and all actions taken are guided solely by our mandate to protect public interest and uphold legal standards.”
