    Green Africa, Access Bank partner on aircraft acquisition

    Green Africa Airways has unveiled the acquisition of its second owned aircraft packaged with asset financing partnership with Access Bank

    The incoming aircraft, an ATR 72-600 with manufacturer’s serial number 1064 and registration mark 5N-GAC, according a statement by the carrier will help it increase capacity on its existing routes across the country.

    The aircraft, the airline said is expected to enter into service shortly after customary regulatory approvals.

    The statement reads:” As with the carrier’s first aircraft acquisition, Access Bank, one of the largest financial institutions on the continent, provided the naira debt facility to partly fund this strategic fleet expansion.”

    Founder & CEO of Green Africa, Babawande Afolabi, said: “We are delighted to welcome our second owned aircraft (5N-GAC) to the fleet.

    Green Africa gets COO

    Green Africa, Lagos-based value airline, has appointed Captain Bart Roberts as chief Operating officer.

    Roberts will be responsible for Flight Operations, Integrated Operations Control Centre, Operational Safety, Airport Services, and Training. He brings over four decades of leadership experience in global aviation to Green Africa. He joins the company from Cirrus Aircraft in McKinney, Texas, where he was executive director of Flight Training.

    Prior to Cirrus Aircraft, he was vice president of Flight Operations at JetBlue. His extensive career also includes 28 years at American Airlines.

    Roberts served in United States Navy and Navy Reserve for 25 years, retiring as Captain (O-6). His commitment to the industry is further demonstrated by his community service; he was a member of the International Air Transport Association Operations Council and currently serves on the Board of Women in Aviation International (WAI).

    Green Africa, a Lagos based carrier, has launched its gChat bot to meet its customers’ evolving needs. The chat bot is designed to provide customers with seamless self-service options and direct access to Green Africa’s dedicated gCare specialists for personalised assistance.

    As the first chatbot introduced by a Nigerian airline, gChat aligns with Green Africa’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve customer experience and provide efficient, round-the-clock support.

    The chatbot is now live and accessible 24/7 on Green Africa’s website, greenafrica.com.
