Green Radio: Three years of revolutionising online radio

In July 2021, media entrepreneur Oni Oluwagbemiga, popularly known as Dammy Gee, took a bold step into the unknown by launched Green Radio, an online radio station that would shake up the Nigerian entertainment industry. Three years later, Green Radio has become a household name, synonymous with quality entertainment, engaging content, and community service.

As Green Radio celebrates its third anniversary, Dammy Gee reflects on the journey so far. “It’s been an incredible three years,” he says with a smile. “We’ve had our ups and downs, but our commitment to our listeners and the community has remained unwavering.”

Green Radio’s programming is diverse and far-reaching, covering entertainment, radio drama, lifestyle programs, politics, and more. From the popular “Green Morning Show” to the thought-provoking “Chatroom”, the station’s content is designed to educate, inform, and entertain. The station’s relationship-based programme, Phonebooth has become a fan favourite, with its engaging and captivating style of presentation.

But Green Radio’s impact goes beyond entertainment. The station is also using its medium to unite Nigeria, with programmes like One Naija – Better together which bring together people from different backgrounds and regions to discuss issues, share experiences, and build bridges.

“We believe in the power of unity and the importance of bringing people together,” Dammy Gee explains.

This year’s anniversary celebration is particularly significant, as Green Radio is reaching out to 300 students in Lagos State public schools with bountiful gifts. “We believe in investing in the next generation,” Green Radio’s boss, Oni says. “These students are the future leaders of our country, and we want to encourage and support them in any way we can.

Green Radio’s success is a testament to Oni Oluwagbemiga’s vision, hard work, and dedication. The station has become a model for online radio stations in Nigeria, and its impact will be felt for years to come.

As Green Radio looks to the future, Dammy Gee is optimistic about what lies ahead. “We’re open to prospective partners or sponsors who want to partner with us during this anniversary,” he says.

“Together, we can achieve great things and make a positive impact on the community.”
