Reality star, Groovy has accused Grammy organisers of cheating Wizkid out of an award in 2022.

Wizkid bagged two nominations at the 64th Grammys, courtesy of his ‘Made in Lagos’ album and the worldwide hit song ‘Essence’ with Tems.

‘Made in Lagos’ was designated within the category of Worldwide Music collection.

Wizkid was also nominated for Best Worldwide music execution for ‘Essence’ but shockingly, he did not win any.

Comparing what happened to Davido, Burna Boy, who both lost at the 66th version of the prestigious awards, Groovy argued that Essence not winning a Grammy grant was one of the greatest robberies to ever happen within the history of the award.

He made this statement on social media in response to Twitter influencer, Asiwaju Lerry who supported people attacking Davido for losing out in three categories despite being nominated.

He pointed out that when Wizkid lost in his 2022, people made fun of him, but there was no hate or buzz about it, however, the reaction for Davido is different.

“Wizkid lost his Grammy nominations with Made in Lagos and Essence, everyone cooked him for an entire week. No be hate, but the banter must go round,” Lerry tweeted.

Groovy quoted his post and wrote: “Wiz not winning a Grammy for Essence is one of the biggest robberies in that award’s entire history.”

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Groovy, has spoken out about his past relationships that stirred controversy among fans and followers of the show.

He addressed perceptions that he leveraged his relationships with Beauty and Phyna to gain advantages on the show.

Recalling Beauty’s disqualification in the second week of the Level Up season and Phyna’s subsequent victory in the same season, Groovy refuted claims made by some colleagues and fans suggesting he was untrustworthy during his time in the house.

He asserted that he conducted himself with kindness, loyalty, and honesty.

In an interview with Punch, Groovy emphasized that it was unfair for some admirers of his ex-partners to accuse him of dishonesty simply because the relationships did not succeed.

Groovy said: “I feel there has been a certain perception of me in the public as a result of the relationships I was in while in the house. All those talks about me not being genuine is something I want to clear up because I actually stayed true to myself. I was caring and loyal. I did not try to deceive anybody. I believed I could win the show, without necessarily having to do any of that.

“What is the essence of winning the show if I lost my mantle or damaged anybody in the process? I feel like some things work out and some things don’t work out. Saying that I am not a genuine person because everything did not work out is a wrong narrative about me. I am not what they said I am.”

“I feel like the reunion was a continuation of what we did in the house, and I saw it as an opportunity for people to bury the hatchet, air out their grievances for one last time, and find mutual understanding.

“There were fun sides to it, and there were also fights. I felt everybody had different experiences. I went there and I said my truth, which is all I always say because I am a genuine person. I say things as they are, and don’t try to cut corners.”
