On Gumsu Sani Abacha’s 50th birthday

If Fatima Gumsu Sani-Abacha, daughter of Nigeria’s former Military Head of State General Sani Abacha was to start counting her blessings since she was born, it would be so enormous that it would take her a lifetime.

Despite being born with the proverbial silver spoon in her mouth, one would marvel at Gumsu’s level of respect and courtesy for everyone who comes her way.

The beautiful wife of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala-Buni is grossly misunderstood, one needs to spend time with her to understand she is an angel in human form and an interesting woman who loves to be surrounded by positive energy.

For over two decades, the stylish mother of five has faced criticism. Despite every attempt to pull her down emotionally, she has developed a thick skin, not allowing naysayers to deprive her of her joy. She is one person who never jokes about prayer time with her Creator in spite of her busy schedule.

On September 23, she celebrated her 50th birthday without much fanfare. She opted for a private party in her Abuja residence with friends, family and associates.

Fitted in a green patterned flowing Abaya, and a velvet green scarf tied around her neck, the celebrant posed with over 10 gigantic cakes, cards and gift items as friends and family members made a toast to her.

Her mother and elder sibling also ensured they celebrated with her. She was happy and excited to have arrived on the 5th floor. Those few opportuned to grace the gold and white themed house party were lavishly treated to an array of meals, drinks and champagne with music.
