Speaking at a briefing, HCA Chairman, Prof Ibrahim Oreagba, said the seminar would facilitate the global understanding of challenges and opportunities in the halal industry.

“One of the key objectives of this seminar is to facilitate meaningful dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders. By bringing together professionals from different sectors and regions, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the Halal industry,” he said.

The seminar will include the latest advancements in Halal certification processes, emerging trends in Halal products, and the role of technology in enhancing the transparency and efficiency of Halal supply chains and Halal Assurance Systems.

Prof Oreagba added that innovative solutions will contribute to global sustainability aside upholding the integrity of Halal standards.

“We believe that through collective efforts, we can develop innovative solutions that not only uphold the integrity of Halal standards but also contribute to the global goal of sustainability,” he added.

Addressing the concerns raised in a recent viral video claiming pork was being used to make Gala, Deputy Director Shariah Compliance HCA, Imam Sherifdeen Ibrahim, said they had certified UAC foods to be Halal and had also certified the abattoirs providing beef to the company to be halal as well.

Imam Ibrahim urged the Muslim Ummah to disregard the rumour.
