American singer Halle Bailey has retracted her initial statement condemning ex-partner DDG for taking their son Halo on Kai Cenat’s livestream without her knowledge.
Bailey’s initial post expressed distress at finding out about Halo’s livestream appearance through social media, feeling she should have been notified as his mother and protector.
“Hi everyone. Just so you know, I am out of town and I don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight. I wasn’t told or notified and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people. I am his mother and protector and saddened that I wasn’t notified, especially when I am out of town,” her post reads.
After facing backlash, Bailey reactivated her social media accounts and apologised for her reaction.
On X, Bailey wrote that she may have overreacted and shouldn’t have publicly aired her concerns.

She acknowledged Halo’s safety with his father and expressed gratitude to Kai for gifts sent to Halo.
She wrote, “Yesterday maybe I overreacted and shouldn’t have brought it here. I know that Halo is always safe with his dad. I just don’t like finding out with the rest of the world what my baby is doing. Thank you, Kai, for the gifts for Halo.”
However, many X users defended Bailey’s initial reaction, emphasising her right as a mother to feel upset.
They argued that her emotions and concerns were valid, and she shouldn’t be policed on how to feel about her child.
