    Rep Tsanyawa lauds swift leadership response to Uromi crisis

    Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Service, Hon. Engr. Sani Bala Tsanyawa, has commended President Bola Tinubu, the National Assembly, and state governors for their prompt response to the recent mob killings in Uromi, Edo State, where 16 individuals suspected of being kidnappers lost their lives.

    In a statement, Hon. Tsanyawa praised President Tinubu for his immediate directive to security agencies, emphasizing the need for decisive action to address the crisis. 

    “The President’s swift response demonstrates his unwavering commitment to national security. Such leadership ensures that justice prevails while preventing further breakdowns of law and order,” he said.

    He also lauded the National Assembly for launching an inquiry into the incident, stressing that legislative oversight is crucial in unraveling the underlying causes and implementing measures to avert similar occurrences. 

    “A thorough investigation will not only ensure justice but also help in formulating strategies to curb mob violence,” he noted.

    Hon. Tsanyawa further appreciated the Edo State Governor for transferring the suspects to Abuja for a transparent and impartial investigation. 

    He also acknowledged the Governor’s visit to Kano to console the families of the affected, describing it as a gesture of empathy and solidarity in a time of grief.

    Expressing deep sympathy for the victims’ families, Hon. Tsanyawa offered prayers for the departed souls and strength for their loved ones. 

    “May Allah grant them eternal rest and comfort their families. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that such tragic incidents do not recur,” he stated.

    The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Service, Hon. Engr. Sani Bala Tsanyawa has called for restraint and decorum by public office holders in political engagements.

    He stressed that leaders must set an example through respectful and dignified communication.

    Tsanyawa emphasized that public figures must uphold integrity and avoid inflammatory rhetoric that could damage reputations and undermine societal harmony.

    The lawmaker who represents Kunchi/ Tsanyawa Federal Constituency urged relevant authorities to take necessary action, ensuring that public discourse remains constructive and respectful.

    He said those those in leadership positions have a responsibility to foster unity rather than division. 

    The lawmaker said personal attacks have no place in governance, and all strive to promote a culture of mutual respect.

    His appeal comes in response to a recent issue where certain comments were made recently by a top government functionary towards the wife of the former governor of the state, Prof Hasfat Ganduje, in a video.

    Tsanyawa said the statement was inappropriate and unbecoming of a high-ranking official and should be retracted and apologies duly rendered.
