  • Hyundai Motors donates ICT labs to schools

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited (HMNL) has reiterated its support for computer literacy in schools across the country.

    The company spoke when it donated ultra-modern Information Communication Technology (ICT) laboratories to select public schools and colleges in Lagos, Abuja, the nation’s capital, and Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

    The project, which is aimed at expressing the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles of supporting grassroots education and enhancing human resources development, also seeks to improve the lives of the people under a development-oriented and sustainable movement.

    The Managing Director of Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited, Parvir Singh, spoke at the inauguration of the ICT laboratory at Vetland Senior Grammar Schoo, Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos, said the gesture was also being held simultaneously in several parts of the world with other Hyundai dealerships.

    Represented by the company’s Head of Sales and Marketing, Gaurav Vashisht, the managing director said the initiative was crucial to Hyundai corporate social values of touching lives and being a customer-centric organisation that is loved and trusted by the society.

    He said: “We in Nigeria, in line with Hyundai Motors global CSR maxim of ‘Moving the World Together’, are joining hundreds of thousands of other Hyundai dealerships across the world to demonstrate Hyundai’s Corporate Social Responsibility doctrines of empowering lives, supporting youths’ education and helping them to access quality education.”

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited (HMNL) has announced a comprehensive 30-day discounted service campaign.

    The campaign starts on Wednesday for owners and fleet managers of Hyundai cars including Hyundai Commercial Vehicles.

    Tagged ‘Before service clinic,’ HMNL said it aimed at helping customers rediscover the value of their Hyundai vehicles and appreciate the commitment of the dealership to the brand.

    Announcing the scheme in Lagos, the HMNL Head of After Sales Srinivas Jayaram said up to 50 per cent discount on body parts and 15 per cent discount on body repair and mechanical labour charges would be permitted on applicable services during the campaign.

    He explained that the 25–point-checkup initiative was designed to reassure customers and offer additional values such as free diagnosis and inspection; free labour charge on oil and filter replacements, free air-conditioning checks and free quotation with flexible option to repair or replace parts only valid till December 31.

    Customers would in addition be granted special prices on upholstery cleaning, engine steam wash, wheel alignment and balancing as well as body wax, Jayaram assured.

    “We have retrained our service technicians in multiple auto repair disciplines and acquaint them extensively in Hyundai cutting-edge and ever changing technology and we are proud to say, we have some of the best technicians that are trained to handle complex auto repair jobs,” he added.

    The 30-day ‘before service clinic’ is also intended to help customers’ tune-up their vehicles to avoid undue cessations that could result in unplanned cost implications before the yuletide.

    Jayaram said: “Our obligation at HMNL is to make ownership of Hyundai vehicles an enjoyable experience and we recognise the importance of excellence both in quality of our vehicles and in after sales service.”

    HMNL, a subsidiary of Stallion Motors, said the service campaign, which is, entirely applicable to 2014 and earlier Hyundai models are to be fixed at designated Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited service centers at both Orile and Ijesha Lagos; Abuja and Port-Harcourt, as well as Hyundai Commercial Vehicle garage Isolo Lagos.

  • Alleged sale of defective vehicle: Lawyer demands N165m from Hyundai Motors

    For allegedly selling a defective automobile to his client, Lagos  lawyer Mr. Wale Ogunade has written to the Managing Director of Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited demanding the payment of N165, 595,000.00 covering purchase price and general damages following inability to use the car.

    The letter dated September 19,  was written on behalf of Mr. Ayo Oluwatosin and Starcoms Media Services Limited, stating that the duo purchased a Hyundai Grand Santa Fe luxury GLS3.3l, along with four  other units of vehicles from the Ikeja outlet of Hyundai, in which the said vehicle was delivered on October 6, last year.

    The lawyer stated that he was informed that upon delivery of the said vehicle with it was put to use between 21st – 26thday of October, 2016, wherein it was discovered that it had a brake problem and which was indicated on its dashboard.

    “Our client further informed us that it immediately drew the attention of your company to the brake problem of the said vehicle and of which it was taken to your company’s service centre for repairs on the 27th day of October, 2016.

    “Subsequently, the said vehicle was yet again taken twice by your company for repairs for the same issue and when returned back to our client, the situation did not abate.

    “Our client  informed us that after a long back and forth, a meeting was held with some representatives of your company on the 18th day of July, 2017, wherein our client expressly informed your representatives that the only solution to the issue is a refund of the amount paid for the said vehicle, plus interest and that your company take back the said vehicle as stated in paragraph 3 of our client’s letter to your company dated the 26th day of July, 2017.

    “Our client further informed us that, a representative of your company in the person of Mr. Fatai Olatunji Ibrahim visited our client at its office to pick up the said vehicle and were later informed that the purchase price would be refunded after the sale of the said vehicle.

    “Our client has explicitly made it clear to us that it will not be party to any deal that will further endanger the lives of fellow Nigerians and so, appalled by the fact that your company insists on reselling the said vehicle to a third party, before refunding our client’s money, which is contrary to the agreement reached during the meeting held on the 18th day of July, 2017 with representatives of both your company and our client in attendance”, the letter read in part.

    “We view this overall conduct of yours as not only a breach of contract, by selling a product that is not fit for purpose, but also an attempt to  involve our client in an unwholesome act, which is fraudulent”, Ogunade stated.

    The lawyer therefore requests Hyundai Motors to pay ¦ 15,595,000.00 being the purchase price of the vehicle; ¦ 50,000,000.00 for breach of contract for the said vehicle not being fit for purpose and another ¦ 100,000,000.00 for general damages, for the inability to put the car to use for which it was purchased.

    Following refusal of Hyundai Motors to accept responsibility, Starcom Media opted for legal action. In a suit filed before Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse, the company prayed for a total refund of the purchase money.

    Hyundai Motors, however denied culpability having according to it conducted extensive pre-delivery on every component parts of the vehicle and that all were found to be in perfect condition before handing the said vehicle over to the customer.

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited (HMNL) has announced an offer of N2,695,000 for prospecting customers seeking to buy Hyundai cars in the company’s periodic sales campaign.
    Tagged ‘Hyundai Grand Savings Bonanza,’ HMNL Head, Sales and Marketing, Jatin Nadkarni said the bonanza promises to make prices very competitive during and after the campaign.
    The offer, which is restricted to selected Hyundai models, such as Hyundai i10, Grand Xcent and Accent, could afterward be extended to cover other models in the Hyundai line-up.
    Nadkarni said: “Stallion Hyundai Motors Nigeria is determined to cushion imminent scarcity of functional B segment cars and mitigate price increase of cars owing to last year prohibition of used vehicle import through the land borders. The offer also gives customers to buy the desired Hyundai models during this Easter festive season. Buyers of these three homemade models are offered free registration and free service for six months or 10,000km, whichever is earlier. The incentives are in addition to Hyundai standard three-year or 100,000 kilometre warranty for i10 and Grand Xcent, and 5-year or 100,000 kilometre warranty for Accent, Mr. Nadkarni explained.
    Hyundai Grand Xcent, i10 and Accent cars are assembled in Nigeria at the Hyundai Motors plant in Lagos.
    Powered by 1.25l-litre engine mated to a five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission, the Grand Xcent is admirable for daily travels with an entirely new level of art with comfortable and spacious cabin.
    The i10 is a city car with a five-door hatchback body style, powered by 1.0-litre engine and comes with front electric windows, ABS, air-conditioning and an RDS radio/CD player.
    Hyundai Accent are available with both 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre engines and are powerful saloon cars in its segment with spacious interior, advanced technology and features.
    The price rollover, Nadkarni said, is aimed at making available reasonably priced Made-in-Nigeria cars to assuage imminent dearth of functional pool cars.

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited (HMNL) has appointed Sata Motors Nigeria Limited as its dealer in Benin, the Edo State capital.

    It said the firm would provide sales and aftermarket services for Hyundai Motors in the ancient city of Benin.

    Hyundai Motor’s Head of Sales and Marketing Jatin Nadkarni who presided over the sign-on at the Hyundai Motors Nigeria showroom in Lagos, said the appointment of a sales agent for Benin and its environ was crucial to the growing Hyundai clientele.

    He urged the new agent to carve a niche for the brand by positioning Hyundai and its service facility for outstanding customer experience.

    “The essence of pushing boundaries is to emphasise Hyundai brand direction geared towards providing new values and experiences to yet more customers of today through ways that are unique to the brand to go beyond customers’ expectations,” Nadkarni said.

    The endorsement of Sata Motors Benin brings to six numbers of Hyundai provincial sales agents at various locations in Nigeria including, Ikeja, Ilorin, Awka, Warri and Uyo.

    Nadkarni said it was imperative to inaugurate quality aftermarket shop in line with expanding the economy and increasing new car sales that is approaching 50,000 vehicles yearly.

    He added that modern vehicles require sophisticated diagnostic equipment and trained technicians. The Sales and Marketing helmsman said a rapidly-evolving economy as Nigeria can’t leave such vital service in the hands of small independents aftermarket shops.

  • Hyundai Motors, Diamond Bank renew auto financing scheme

    Hyundai Motors and Diamond Bank Plc have renewed their partnership to allow prospective car owners access soft bank loans to procure discounted Hyundai vehicles.

    Payment in the scheme – tagged ‘Hyundai/Diamond Dream Deal’ – will be by monthly instalments, without collateral or management fee.

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Head of Sales and Marketing, Jatin Nadkarni, said the scheme was in line with Hyundai strategy and direction to make Hyundai vehicle acquisition easy.

    He said customers would aside these benefits enjoy offers, including interest as low as 14 per cent, special prices, waiver of commitment and management fees, free labour and consumables for three months with one Samsung Galaxy Tab for every car bought.

    Describing vehicle credit facility as a common practice in advanced markets, Nadkarni said the initiative is besed on the Federal Government’s National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP) aimed at encouraging patronage of new vehicles, particularly home-made cars.

    The company listed some passenger and commercial vehicle models that can be procured during this bonanza as Hyundai i10, Xcent, Accent, Elantra and Hyundai H100 truck with H1 van and school bus respectively.

  • Hyundai Motors appoints dealer in Uyo

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited has expanded its dealership with the appointment of Uyo-based vending and aftermarket shop, Enebros Motors Limited as the company’s fifth agent including Warri, Awka, Anambra State and two dealerships in Lagos.

    Enebros Motors will cater for the growing Hyundai clientele in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and provide sales and technical support to customers in neighbouring Oron, Eket and other Niger Delta communities.

    The Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency (LASAA) has lauded Hyundai Motors Nigeria for lending credence to the 2013 ‘Lagos Countdown’ event, where the auto company donated one Hyundai Veloster sports car as grand prize to winner of the grand raffle draw at the annual event to wind up an outgoing year and herald a brand New Year.
