    Hyundai lifts film industry

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria has donated two new Hyundai cars to support Africa’s film and TV industry at the just ended 2014 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).

    The vehicles, which include Hyundai Veloster three-door sports car and iX35 crossover were given out to messrs Michelle Bello for emerging winner in the ‘Trailblazer’ category of the award and Pete Edochie, who was awarded ‘Industry Merit Award.’

    This is the first time the Korean automaker country representative is supporting AMVCA since the show was inaugurated last year.

    “We are proud to be associated with Africa’s distinguished movie stars and the film and TV industry,” Hyundai Motors said.

    The company said African movie industry has contributed immensely to the socio-cultural development and diversity of the African continent.

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Head, Sales and Marketing, Jatin Nadkarni, said: “Hyundai is a global brand with predilection for high quality with stylish and fluidic sculpture designs that not only revere Hyundai sporty and dynamic styling but seeks to compliment efforts geared at celebrating African culture and values.”

    He hailed the AMVCA initiative, describing it as yet another incentive to acknowledge African homogeneous socio-cultural heritage, which are divided into great number of ethnic cultures.

    “We, at Hyundai, realise the need to enrich the process of education through the development of African culture and we appreciate the significance of cultural diversity,” Nadkarni added.

    Hyundai partners Stallion Group to make vehicles in Nigeria

    Hyundai Motor Company, one the world’s foremost vehicle manufacturers, is partnering a regional conglomerate, Stallion Group, to manufacture Hyundai passenger and commercial vehicles in Nigeria.

    The partnership will begin in April.

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited – a division of Stallion Group – represents Hyundai’s range of passenger and commercial vehicles in Nigeria, and operates an ultra-modern vehicle assembly plant in Lagos.

    Hyundai’s foray into the critical sub-Saharan market followed the announcement of a new auto policy in Nigeria, which is intended to start a major advancement in the country’s automotive industry.

    An impressive range of Hyundai passenger models, including the i10, i10 Grand, i10 Grand Sedan, ix35 SUV and the Elantra, will be assembled in Nigeria by Stallion Group.

    Regarding the Korean manufacturer’s commercial segment offering, an assembly of models, including the Hyundai County Bus and the Mighty Truck, has begun.

    Head of Hyundai Africa and Middle East Headquarters, Tom Lee said: “This agreement with Stallion Group represents a major step for Hyundai Motor Company’s expansion in Africa, and our ability to cater to the needs of customers around the continent.

    Stallion Group’s Chairman Sunil Vaswani said: “We are pleased to have tied up with Hyundai, which is among the world leaders in automotive industry. Stallion is committed to investing in the industry, aligning well with Nigeria’s policy initiatives and socio-economic objectives.

    “Hyundai’s entry at this stage will be a critical catalyst to develop the auto industry ecosystem, complementing the other prime brands we are associated with.”

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited (HMNL) in collaboration with Diamond Bank PLC has announced the introduction of flexible sales offer at affordable price.

    Announcing the incentive which promises to be resilient, HMNL Head, Sales and Marketing, Mr Jatin Nadkarni, said: “The objective of the campaign is to woo perceptive customers to ‘live brilliantly’ by buying precision engineered Hyundai vehicles that reassures, on value.”

    He explained that the campaign was part of efforts to implement Hyundai’s brand essence of ‘Modern Premium’ – which seeks to reassert Hyundai’s commitment with new experience and values that are beyond customers’ expectations.

    The offer is not limited to Accent, Elantra and Santa Fe models.

    “The sales offer is exclusively seamless without any hidden charges and is open to individuals and fleet buyers,” Nadkarni noted.

    Prospective customers, including those without pragmatic account with bank, can also access the scheme to procure any of the aforementioned Hyundai vehicles, the sales and marketing helmsman affirmed.

    He added that the scheme offers the first three services free in line with Hyundai Service Schedule.

  • Hyundai Nigeria wins ‘Best Corporate Citizen’ award

    FOREMOST Korean auto-maker Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) has given the ‘Best Corporate Citizen’ award to Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited.

    The award, in recognition of Hyundai Motors Nigeria’s outstanding performance and corporate social responsibility initiatives, was presented at the just concluded 7th Hyundai bi-annual Global Distributors Convention in France.

    No fewer than 250 distributors and top executives from 117 countries joined executives from HMC headquarters and subsidiaries at the gathering.

    Hyundai Motors Nigeria Vice Chairman Mr Haresh Vaswani, received the award on behalf of Hyundai Nigeria team at Monaco.

    Hyundai Nigeria was named amongst other international recipients including representatives of Australia, France, India and Russia.

    The Korean automaker acknowledged the local agent’s social welfare and corporate responsibility initiatives towards the less privileged with recourse to consecutive donations of relief materials to orphanage homes in Lagos, Abuja, PortHarcourt and Calabar within the last three years.

    HMC also acknowledged the company’s anti-malaria campaign initiative which began in Lagos three years ago and was subsequently extended to Enugu and Owerri.

    Describing the awardees as “remarkable group of people,” the Executive Vice President Mr Tak UkIm, said “Despite uncertainty in the global economy, I am confident that Hyundai sales will exceed expectations for this year.”

    He enjoined the distributors to work together to make Hyundai the most loved brand in the world, saying, “Our future success is guaranteed when we move forward together to inspire and excite our customers.”

    Vaswani expressed delight at the awards and described it as another milestone and opportunity to aspire to even greater height, while growing alongside world renowned Hyundai brand.

    “Our team was extremely excited when we heard the news and it felt like we’ve made a breakthrough in the field of marketing and essentially got more than 50 million Nigerians to drive Hyundai cars. We surely will continue our celebration beyond Monaco,” he.
