    AWARD-winning Yoruba actor, Ibrahim Chatta, seems to be planning to start singing as he has been releasing some songs on his social media.

    Wearing an Afro look, which was for the new movie, Aiye Shina Rambo, the actor who is reported to be presently single after his second marriage ended months back titled one of the songs, My Money.

    IBRAHIM CHATTA PLANS BIG BUDGET MOVIE

    DYNAMIC actor, Ibrahim Chatta is pooling together a great cast ensemble for his next movie, which he says will redefine his career as an actor and filmmaker.

    “I have been working on the movie for over five years now,” he says, adding that, “My writers and myself have been fine tuning it to make sure it is tight. Now I am satisfied with what we have and we are ready to shoot. I don’t want to talk much about the movie now because part of the marketing strategy is to build suspense amongst the viewers.”

    Entitled: Voiceless, the script reading for the movie which took place in Ibadan, Oyo State, had actors such as Jide Kosoko, Yemi Solade, Wole Ojo, Kehinde Bankole, Sunkanmi Omobolanle and Shaffy Bello-Akinrimisi, among many others.

    Interestingly, the reading started off with a surprise birthday party for Jide Kosoko whose birthday fell on the same day. Chatta along with the other actors presented him with a huge cake, after which a small party started.

    With films such as Edan, Ise Abuja and Kirakita among others, Chatta has proved his art in the make believe business, but Voiceless, he says is a ‘movie to beat’.

    According to Chatta, the movie which will be ready for the cinemas by the third quarter of the year “has to do with a young girl being molested and the extent a mother can go to evade justice.”

    One of the cardinal roles of actors and actresses is to mirror the ills in a society with a view to providing solutions. In the Yoruba genre of Nollywood, Ibrahim Abiodun Chatta is not just any name. He is an actor with a huge fan base that cuts across age and sex. But the news about him at the moment is that his marriage to Salamat Muhammed Lafiaji, daughter of former Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Muhammed Lafiaji, has been dissolved by an Ilorin Upper Area Court over allegations of battering and lack of care.

    Realising that the marriage had lost all the flavour of love and romance, the presiding judge, Hon. R.O. Bakare, said it was very clear to the court that there was no longer love between the couple and that both of them had lost interest in continuing with the union. The court consequently issued a certificate of divorce to Salamat.

    Pretty Salamat had approached the court for the dissolution of her marriage to Chatta, claiming lack of care, abandonment and bad attitude towards the matrimonial home as reasons for the divorce suit. Salamat narrated, during hearing, how Chatta turned her into a punching bag. The union, which did not produce a child, was cemented only in April last year.

    SALAMATU Lafiaji, the daughter of former Kwara State governor, Senator Shaaba Lafiaji, has quit her matrimonial home. Informed sources disclosed that Salamatu started having problems in her marriage to Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, few weeks after their wedding in April last year. Salamatu, who comes from a wealthy home, we gathered, was not too comfortable with the living conditions in Chatta’s home, and this put a strain on the relationship. When hope of improved condition was not visible, she moved out a few weeks ago.

    Shortly after their wedding, there have been insinuations that the actor may have dumped his wife for Salamatu because of her background.
