    Most Nigerian artists don’t allow their kids listen to their songs – ID Cabasa

    Record producer and singer, Olumide Ogunade, popularly known as ID Cabasa, has said most Nigerian artistes restrict their children from listening to their songs. 

    He said most artists are mindful of what their kids listen to and do not approve of them listening to their songs. 

    ID Cabasa stressed that many of the artists are just doing music to make ends meet.

    Cabasa spoke in a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast co-hosted by actor, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu.

    He said: “I can tell you that most artists in Nigeria that you see, they don’t want their kids to actually listen to their own songs. And don’t blame them.

    “I don’t like apportioning blames because music executives are behind what artists put out. A lot of us are doing this thing [music] for survival. So, the question is how do you balance who you are with who they  want you to be?”

    Music producer Olumide Ogunade widely known as ID Cabasa, has pointed out the nation is raising a generation of depressed people.

    ID Cabasa expressed concern over the mental health of Nigerian youths on social media.

    With the prevalence of depression and addiction to hard drugs among the youths, the music producer noted that the country is potentially losing a generation to the twin affliction.

    “We are raising a generation of depressed people who are addicted to drugs.

    “During the COVID-19, we took care of a depressed top artist who was seriously addicted to drugs,” he said.

    Why I fell out with 9ice 14 years ago, says ID Cabasa

    Popular Nigerian music producer and singer, Olumide Ogunade popularly known as ID Cabasa, has broken silence over what transpired that led to the fall out between him and his former signee, 9ice.  

    Cabasa, during a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, said 9ice was upset by his decision to continue working with the latter’s ex-wifee, Toni Seun Payne.

    Payne managed the artists under Cabasa’s Coded Tunes Record, a label that housed her estranged husband at the time and rapper, Olamide.

    Cabasa’s decision to continue working with Payne following the couple’s messy breakup did not sit right with 9ice, who eventually severed ties with the producer.

    According to the producer, he kept Payne in his team, because of 9ice, and he stressed that he did it for him.

    He said: “When I started pushing Olamide, you notice I brought Toni Payne, 9ice was angry but, he had no idea why I brought Payne in.

    “I brought Payne in because I needed to keep Payne and Zion close to 9ice.

    “I had my networks. Mr. Kupuloyi was my publicist. If I need anyone to move my artists around, I can find someone but I saw Payne and I noticed she wanted a reconciliation.

    “I felt if she takes Zion abroad, 9ice may never see his son.”

    My wife made me better in marriage, says Singer ID Cabasa

    Famous music producer and singer, Olumide Ogunade known as ID Cabasa, has acknowledged his wife’s effort in making him a better man by showing him the right path in their marriage.

    The singer showering accolades to his wife in a podcast with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, shared his marriage experience, the struggles involved and the motivations that have kept him sailing.

    The producer said he used to think marriage is going to be all good and rossy, not until he signed into a forever deal.

    When asked about his marriage life, he said his marriage isn’t a perfect one, as there were times he woke up and would want to quit.

    He stated that his wife is the reason he’s still in their marriage today.

    The 48-year-old music producer added that despite his wife’s shortcomings, he is willing to work with her into becoming the perfect wife he desires because she has given him the reason to keep pushing.

    He said he has realised his wife is the best thing that has happened to him, saying that he’s happy today because of her.

    He said: “A lot of times I wake up and I just want to leave, but in all of those curiosities and disbelief, I have enjoyed marriage.

    Because I think I married a friend, and I married someone that even when the chips are down, I really don’t want to leave.

    “People will say they stayed because of children, but I stayed because of my wife”.
