Over 800 Ido-Ekiti students benefit from foundation’s free summer coaching

More than 800 secondary school students in Ido-Ekiti have benefitted from the inaugural free summer coaching organised by Deji Ogunbusuyi Foundation (DOF).

The programme, held during the long holiday, catered to students from JSS 1 to SSS 3 in Ido/Osi and its environs.

Explaining the motivation behind the initiative, the convener, Deji Ogunbusuyi, said the Foundation’s goal is to engage students in meaningful learning activities during the holiday, ensuring they are well-prepared for the upcoming school session.

“This is part of the Foundation’s interventions in education and community development. Our aim is to engage students in meaningful learning as they prepare for the upcoming school session,” he noted.

Ogunbusuyi emphasised that the Foundation views the initiative as a contribution to the educational advancement of the students.

“We hope to make this an annual event, and I thank God for the opportunity to serve my community. We look forward to an even better edition next year, as we continue to strive to make our society a better place for all.”

Appreciating the support he has received, Ogunbusuyi expressed gratitude to his team members and urged students to utilize the opportunity to brighten their futures.

He also acknowledged Prophet Sam Olu Alo for providing the platform for the initiative and praised local community leaders and organisations for their contributions to making the program a success.

A member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Elder Ayo Olomofe encouraged students to stay focused on their studies.

“This free summer coaching is an opportunity for you to get ahead. Make good use of your time, as not everyone will have access to such benefits,” he advised.

Speaking on behalf of the tutors and students, the coordinator of the program, Abiodun Ajayi, lauded the Foundation for organising the coaching sessions.

“The turnout was unprecedented, with students coming from both within and outside the town. It has truly helped them prepare for the new academic session.”
