    Lagos backs Ifako Ijaiye Festival for second edition

    The Lagos State government through the Toke Benson-Awoyinka led ministry of tourism, arts and culture and the Ifako Ijaiye Local Government area council have thrown their weights behind the Ifako Ijaiye Festival ahead of the second edition.

    According to the Festival director and convener, Ayodele Awoniyi aka Ayodel, the second edition of the festival has been scheduled for October 2025.

    The Nation reliably gathered that the organisers of the festival have gotten the nod of both the ministry of tourism, arts and culture and the local government council led by Usman Akanbi Hamzat.

    In a brief chat, Ayodel noted that the ministry of tourism, arts and culture welcomed the idea and lauded the convener for the initiative.

    In the same vein, the Ifako Ijaiye LG boss, Hamzat expressed delight in the commitment of the organisers saying it is great that Ifako Ijaiye has created a unique festival that will stand the test of time for not only residents but also Lagosians in the environ.

    Ayodel also disclosed that a liquid brand, Sparkletts water has also shown interest in supporting the festival.

    The first edition of the community festival was held successfully in December 2025.

    Ifako Ijaiye festival berths, gets LG boss backing

    A new music and comedy festival is set to make its debut in Ifako Ijaiye Local Government area of Lagos state.

    The new festival, which is a brainchild of Ayodele Awoniyi, will make its entrance on the Nigerian scene on February 14, 2024.

    According to a recent statement, Awoniyi and his team of the festival will hold an unveiling and official launch.

    Already, the festival has gotten the backing of the Local Government’s chairman, Honourable Usman Akanbi Hamzat. Hamzat expressed delight at the initiative saying the local government will support the organisers and ensure the event holds its maiden edition in December 2024.

    Dignitaries within Ifako Ijaiye and its environs have expressed interest to be part of the initiative. Billed to attend the launch and unveiling include Bestman Nze-Jumbo, Apostle Remi Awode, Ayodele Awoniyi, Honourable Adedeji Temitope Adewale, Honourable Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo and Honourable Babatunde Raji Label.
