Orutugu also expressed gratitude to sister security agencies, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and youth groups for assisting the police in sustainable peace and promoting communal harmony during the election.

He acknowledged that the peace recorded across the state was made possible through the collective commitment of stakeholders including security agencies, INEC, traditional rulers, and youth groups, who worked closely with the police.

He further urged residents to continue to support the police and other security agencies in consolidating the gains of peace achieved during the elections.

“You have to help us report any suspicious persons or activities capable of breaching the public peace,” Orutugu said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that before Saturday’s governorship election, the CP embarked on a state-wide security advocacy tour across communities in the state, engaging with traditional rulers, youth leaders, religious bodies, and market unions.
