BetKing renews Ikorodu City FC partnership for 2025/26 NPFL season

BetKing, Nigeria’s leading sports betting and digital entertainment brand under KingMakers, is delighted to announce the renewal of its official partnership with Ikorodu City Football Club for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

This marks the third consecutive year of collaboration between both organizations, highlighting a shared commitment to grassroots development, youth empowerment, and the growth of Nigerian football.

Since the partnership began in 2023, Ikorodu City FC, popularly known as the Oga Boys, has risen rapidly through the ranks, earning promotion to the NPFL in 2024 and finishing an impressive fourth place in their debut 2024/25 campaign.

Their season was highlighted by a record-breaking 6–0 victory over Katsina United, one of the most dominant results in NPFL history.

BetKing’s support for Nigerian sports extends far beyond football.

The company recently commissioned a modern mini sports complex at Ifako Ijaiye, already serving over 400,000 community members, including neighboring communities.

BetKing also supported para-athletics at the just-concluded National Sports Festival in Ogun state, organized the BetKing Wheelchair Basketball Championship, and partnered with the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria. These initiatives underscore BetKing’s dedication to grassroots sports and inclusivity across the country.

Speaking on the renewed partnership, Gossy Ukanwoke, Managing Director of KingMakers and CEO of BetKing, said: “Our renewed partnership with Ikorodu City FC reflects our commitment to empowering young talent and strengthening Africa’s position as a global sports powerhouse.

At KingMakers and BetKing, we believe the future of sports begins with grassroots investment, which is why we built and commissioned a mini stadium at Ifako Ijaiye earlier this year to give youth and communities a modern space to play, train, and dream.

Beyond infrastructure, our support for initiatives such as Paralympians demonstrates our dedication to building an inclusive sports ecosystem that creates pride, opportunity, and lasting impact across Nigeria and the continent.” He added.

Ikorodu City FC Chairman, Sanmi Doherty, added: “BetKing has been more than a sponsor—they have been a catalyst for our vision. From promotion to a top four NPFL finish and one of the most dominant results in the league, their support has been transformational. We look forward to building on this momentum together.”

BetKing, under the KingMakers umbrella, remains committed to empowering communities, inspiring fans, and advancing Nigerian sports through strategic investments in football and inclusive initiatives.

Ikorodu City FC roars back with BetKing’s support in a thrilling 4-2 victory over Lobi Stars

Ikorodu City FC, backed by their major sponsor BetKing, is making a powerful comeback in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following a challenging start to their season.

The Lagos-based club recently thrilled fans with a stunning 4-2 victory over Lobi Stars, lifting them from the bottom of the NPFL table to 18th place, ahead of Akwa United and Lobi Stars of Makurdi.

This resurgence, fueled by BetKing’s support, has seen Ikorodu City FC score seven goals across their last two matches, both ending in victory and marking a significant improvement in form.

The “Oga Boys” have collected eight out of a possible nine points in their last three matches, signaling a promising turnaround.

Their recent results include a 3-0 triumph over Bendel Insurance at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Heartland FC in Owerri, and a close match against Enyimba of Aba, where they narrowly lost 2-1 to the former CAF champions.

Despite the defeat, the team showcased remarkable resilience and determination, competing fiercely against one of Nigeria’s top clubs.

BetKing’s commitment to Ikorodu City FC has gone beyond financial support since their partnership began in 2023.

The betting giant has provided resources and encouragement essential to the club’s growth, both on and off the field.

The newly promoted club has faced tough opponents like Kano Pillars, Enugu Rangers, and Nasarawa United, recording losses in these early encounters. However, with BetKing’s backing, Ikorodu City FC is finding its footing and building momentum to climb the NPFL table.

As the “Oga Boys” continue their journey in the NPFL, BetKing’s sponsorship is a driving force in their pursuit of sustained success. With seven points from their last three matches and a renewed spirit, Ikorodu City FC is poised to make its mark on Nigerian football.

Fans can look forward to more thrilling performances as the club fights for its place in the top tier of the NPFL.
