Ikorodu United duo Kabiru Balogun and Michael Adenodi have said the newcomers will not come back empty-handed from the Coal City clash against leaders Enugu Rangers.

Balogun said Enugu Rangers will be unkind to themselves to treat them as walkovers on their bottom-placed position on the league table.

“We are not in Enugu for sightseeing, rather to win or worse case earn for ourselves a draw at Enugu Ranger.

“Rangers are a big name in the domestic scene playing in the top flight, same as ours and they will regret their action if they treat us as walkovers.

“Though we occupy the bottom position at the moment that does not mean we cannot play good football.

“Lobi Stars and Heartland are big sides in the land and we were able to handle them successfully so Rangers have to watch their back.

“We will respect Enugu Rangers but will not fear them as our position makes us dangerous customers to any side in the top fligh,” said the Ikorodu United marksman to supersport.com.

The Lagos outfit are at the bottom of the 20-team top flight on poorly 10 points from possible 48 in the 16-week old league.

Cooreman ‘fully satisfied’ with victory over Ikorodu Utd

Akwa United boss Maurice Cooreman declared himself happy with his side’s display in the 3-0 victory over Ikorodu United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Wednesday.

They were impressive despite a red card to Emeka Isaac, after a rough challenge on Ifegwu Ojukwu in the 43rd minute.

Cooreman felt it was a game that saw his wards play very well despite the numerical disadvantage.

“In the first half we were good and in the second half we were better,” the former Enyimba FC coach told Goal.

“We had possession and created chances after the break but in the opening 45 minutes we tried to play our football. We could have done with having more of the ball. I think we played so well despite the red card to Emeka.

“So I am half happy and also fully satisfied, but it’s always good to improve on a win rather than a draw or a defeat. Winning makes us think we can continue like this in the division and that is a source of pleasure and confidence.

“We are a team that will fight and fight and try to take the game to the opposition, sometimes with more success than others. There are teams that will beat us, but others will fall by the wayside.”
