The Osun State Muslim Community has cautioned the state government to be cautious in handling the issue of the Inisa Central Mosque Imamship tussle.
In a communique issued after its January executive meeting, OSMC appealed to Governor Adeleke not to interfere with the issue of Imam selection and installation.
The communiqué signed by OSMC President, Alhaj Mustafa Olawuyi and Secretary General, Alhaj Ganiyu Akeredolu was made available to journalists by OSMC Public Relations Officer, Prince Hameed Oyegbade.
According to the communiqué, “OSMC calls on the Osun State government to be cautious in handling matters concerning religion, particularly as it affects Imamship issues.”

“That Government should be seen to safeguard and uphold democracy on matters that are in courts, respecting the separation of power between the Executives and Judiciary, especially as it affects Inisa Central Mosque issue with a pending court order.”
OSMC also advises the State Government to make judicious use of the Two Billion Naira (N2bm) already received by the State government from the Federal Government of Nigeria as palliatives to cushion the effects of fuel subsidies removal on the masses, particularly the vulnerable residents, workers and pensioners before the Ramadan fasting, coming up early March 2024.
The Muslim Community commends the State Government for the refurbishment of buses for public transport to ease transportation in the State and urges the government to ensure that the buses are available across the State.
