  • Dufil acquires May & Baker Noodles factory for N775million

    In furtherance of its aim to contribute to the economy, leading noodles maker in Nigeria, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, has finally acquired three noodles production lines of May & Baker Nigeria PLC (“M&B”).

    According to the Financial Adviser/Solicitor of Dufil Prima Foods, Nnenna Ejekam, the deal comes after the Acquisition was completed following receipt of approvals from the respective Boards of Directors and shareholders of Dufil Prima Foods Plc and M&B, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

    She revealed that the deal is worth N775million and automatically gives Dufil the ownership of M&B’s Noodles Factory in Ota, along with the equipment; and the trademark of Mimee Instant Noodles.

    The Chief Operating Officer of Dufil Prima Foods, Mr. Girish Sharma, confirmed the deal and described the acquisition of Mimee Noodles as strategic as they continue to seek more dominance of the noodles market.

  • INDOMIE lifts the less privileged

    As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, donated several cartons of its products to several less priviledge. The gesture is a way of showing love and care in the society particularly the orphans and the physically challenged.

    Making the donation on behalf of the company, the Group Public Relations and Events Manager, Dufil Prima Foods, Mr. Temitope Ashiwaju, said that the donations were a way through which the company shows love to the less privileged in the society including the orphans especially for the yuletide celebration.

    Ashiwaju revealed that the company believes so much in giving back to the society. He added that, “The visit is something we do every year and it was wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of the children when we arrived. It was also an opportunity for Indomie to spread some much-needed love and joy to these children and also identify their needs in other to help proffer solutions to some of them; these visits are hugely important for Indomie and all involved.”

    Receiving the Indomie crew, the Principal, Pacelli School for the blind and partially sighted children, Surulere, Rev Sister, Jane Onyeneri, expressed the management’s delight for the gesture and also for considering their school appropriate for the surprise visit.

    Mrs Laja Adedoyin, Founder Hearts of Gold Children Hospice also expressed her profound appreciation to the brand for coming to spend time with the children and also for the supply of products and gifts.

    Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, has rewarded several schools and individuals in Lagos who won in the just concluded Indomie ‘You Like No Other’ (YLNO) promotion. The Indomie YLNO promo, designed to appreciate uniqueness and hard-work saw millions of consumers and schools send Indomie wrapper entries in a bid to win prizes.

    The grand prize, a brand new deluxe school bus, was eventually won by Our Lady of Mount Camel Nursery and Primary School with many other schools and individuals winning other prizes such as: premium power generating sets; music instruments; photocopying machines; public address systems and Indomie Bukas.

    The prize presentation took place on March 27, 2017, in Lagos with winning consumers and representatives of winning schools in attendance. A total of 11 Bukas, seven power generating sets, two musical equipment, six photocopying machines, six sports kits and one public address system were presented by Indomie to the excited consumers and school representatives.

    Our Lady of Mount Camel School was declared the grand prize winner after sending the highest entry of 1,550 cut Indomie Noodles ‘You Like No Other’ caricatures. The closest to Mount Camel School was Saint Joseph School with 595 ‘You Like No Other’ caricature cut-outs.

    Speaking at the presentation event, General Manager, Indomie, Mr Girish Sharma said “This prize presentation is to officially close the Indomie YLNO promotion by handing over the school bus and gifts to the winners who participated.’’

    “Over 330,000 consumers have been rewarded in the YLNO promo and Indomie is keen on fulfilling every promise made to consumers. We thank our consumers for having faith in the brand and also for their participation,” he added.

    Also speaking at the prize presentation, Group Public Relations and Events Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju said: “Indomie ‘You Like No Other’ promo was used to celebrate the uniqueness in consumers of all walks of life. The YLNO promo was distinct from any other promo and this made the acceptance by consumers easy.     Representatives of Schools and individual winners at the event expressed joy and delight towards the brand for fulfilling the promise made. They explained the surmountable task they had to face to become winners of the promo, while also thanking the brand for the gifts received.

    It would be recalled that the “You Like No Other” promo which kicked-off last year October, saw different prizes worth over N600 million being won amongst which 500 consumers walked home with cash prize of N100,000 each.

    Participants were required to cut out the YLNO characters on the Indomie special pack and present a collected number of 20 different characters to win an instant Indomie carton. Those who collected up to 50 different unique characters were amongst 500 lucky consumers that received one hundred thousand Naira (100,000 Naira).

    Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie Instant noodles has announced the kick-off of yet another exciting consumer enabling promotion tagged “Indomie Cash for Scholarship Promo” which is expected to run up till the month of April 2017.

    Consumers of Indomie Instant Noodles are expected to participate by collecting and cutting all 18 letters from Indomie Noodles packs to complete the phrase “INDOMIE LIKE NO OTHER”. After presenting the 18 letters that form the phrase at designated redemption centres consumers stand the chance of being rewarded with prizes such as premium brand bicycles, 150,000 Naira worth of scholarships to support their education.

    Speaking about the Promo, Brand Manager, Indomie Instant Noodles, Mr Amber Yadav, said: “the cash for scholarship promo is borne out of Indomie’s desire to enable consumers to achieve their dreams of a better life for tomorrow.     Dufil Prima Foods, Makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, has revealed its intention to reach 10,000,000 million Nigerians in the year during its annual sampling exercise. The program will see millions of Consumers freely taste the number one brand in the noodles category across the country.

    Speaking on the free sampling program for the year, Brand Manager, Indomie Instant Noodles, Mr. Amber Yadav said: “Indomie is using this exercise to remind Consumers of how quality taste like. We know things are hard at the moment but people should always remember that there is no price tag that can justify inferiority. Noodles globally is loved by families and when you love your family you are expected to give them the very best; in the noodles market that best is Indomie.”

    Amber affirmed that the sampling exercise will include all variants (SKU’s) of Indomie Instant Noodles and this will be carried out in all geopolitical zones in the country: North-Central, North-East, North-West, South-East, South-South and South-West with special focus on key cities such as Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, Kaduna, Owerri, Enugu among others.

    “Indomie has remained the favourite instant noodles in homes, offices and restaurants because it thrives on getting Consumers insight and using the knowledge of Consumer preferences to improve on the brand.     As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, Dufil prima Foods makers of Indomie Instant Noodles have pledged to partner with the Kaduna State Government on its laudable School Feeding Programme.The brand conveyed its support when its top management staff paid a courtesy visit to the Kaduna State Government.

    The state government’s School Feeding Programme was introduced to ensure school children are fed every day making them more inclined to learning. Many children attend school without eating due to poverty and this affects their ability to be attentive in class.

    Speaking during the visit, General Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, Mr Girish Sharma stated that, “the continued progress of the School Feeding Scheme within the state and the passion of the government at ensuring the scheme remains functional has been closely monitored over time. It has become imperative for Indomie to throw its weight behind such a laudable scheme in order to encourage children to remain in school.”

    “Over the years, Indomie has become the favourite and most preferred meal especially for children and we know that for effective learning to be achieved the child must be properly fed. On this premise we are glad to support the Kaduna State Government on the feeding initiative as its resultant effect would lead to better learning for children, improved health and encourage enrolment in schools since the food challenge has been eliminated.” He said.

    Indomie during the visit also donated 500 cartons of Indomie Instant Noodles to the state governor, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai.

    On his part, Governor El-Rufai stated: “According to available statistics only 1.1 million children were in school when I assumed office as the governor of the state but presently the figure has doubled to about 2.2 million children due to the free education and feeding programme. I, therefore, commend Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Instant noodles for the donation and commitment to the school feeding programme initiated by the state.”

    The governor promised to deploy the cartons of Indomie to Sanga Injema Local Government Area of the State where there is a major crisis of internal displacement in the state. He further called on other companies to emulate Indomie’s act of selfless service to humanity.

    INDOMIE concludes nationwide search for 2016 IIDA heroes

    The nationwide search and call for entry for the 2016 edition of the Indomie Independence Day Award (IIDA); proudly supported by DAAR Communications, has finally come to an end, with a total of 229 inspiring and heroic stories gathered from different States and locations across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.

    A breakdown of the stories gathered revealed that majority of the stories came from the South East geo-political zone with 55 entries; followed by the South-West (53 stories), South-South (50 stories), North West (30 stories), North East (29 stories), while the North Central has the least entries with a total of 12 heroic stories.

    Speaking on the concluded nationwide search exercise/call-for-entry, the Brand Manager, Indomie Instant noodles, Mr. Amber Yadav, stated that the progress report which the brand has received from the search team right from the commencement of the search which kicked-off three months ago has once again proved that Nigerian kids across several parts of this great nation exhibit several outstanding and heroic acts on a daily basis which should be rewarded.

    “So far we have received 229 entries through our search team that has been on the field for about 3 months and through other dedicatedmeans of entry. I can guarantee everyone that from what we got this year,several great acts which should neither go unannounced nor unrewarded are exhibited by several kids on a daily basis; and as a firm, our duty through the IIDA is to not only search for these kids, but also appreciate their effort, and reward them for their ingenuity.” Yadav said.

    Appreciating the search team for a job well done, the Group Public Relations and Events Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju expressed delight at the heroic kids that have once again been discovered. Ashiwaju stated that “This year’s edition of the IIDA which is the 9th in a roll, promises to be the best so far, as the quality of entries received no doubt shows that Dufil Prima Foods was on track when it kicked-off the IIDA 9years ago.”

    Emphasizing on the importance of the search exercise, Ashiwaju said “The main objective of the search is to collect true stories and experiences across different locations about kids who at one time or the other have performed any act of bravery, as well as, seek out thoroughly and check for cited events, persons and places for the acts of bravery in order to get deserving individuals (children) for the award. Also, to verify and authenticate the stories by asking neighbors, teachers and friends’ basic questions about the child concerned.”

    Speaking vividly on the essence of the award, Ashiwaju said “IIDA is a platform designed to identify, celebrate, and also reward Nigerian kids who at one point or the other have shown exemplary courage in difficult situations, saved lives, stood against challenges and limitations of the society.”

    He noted that this year’s edition have been reformed to fit the newly created three categories – physical bravery, social bravery and Intellectual bravery so as to reward more kids. Hence, three winners will be going home with 1million naira worth of scholarship each in the 2016 award.

    It should be noted that the Indomie Independence Day Award for Heroes of Nigeria has so far produced a total of 24 winners in the last eight years whom were rewarded with scholarship prizes worth several millions of Naira. The 2016 edition of the award is supported by DAAR Communications.

    According to a press statement issued recently, the promo is designed to reward it loyal consumers for their unfailing patronage of the brand.

    “Indomie Wrapper Redemption Promo avails consumers and retailers to be winners of several mouthwatering prizes – the ultimate prize being an all-expense paid trip to Dubai to ten lucky consumers.

    “To qualify for the promo, a consumer is required to present twenty (20) Indomie wrappers of any SKUs. These SKUs are in 70g, 100g, 120g, or 200g of any of the Indomie variants with manufacturing date not later than 1st of December, 2015.

The end-of-the-year crossover event tagged: “One Lagos Fiesta” is in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture with a whooping sum of 10million Naira as support. The event replaces the annual Lagos Countdown event - a concept of the State’s Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), to herald the New Year while celebrating the rich culture, music, language of the state and also promoting commerce especially for more small scale businesses in the State.  This year’s edition is the fourth of the series which usually witness over 200,000 individuals in attendance. Speaking on the partnership for the event, Head of Public Relations and Event Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju, said: “We are excited to be a part of this maiden edition of One Lagos Fiesta which is the biggest crossover event and concert in Lagos State and Nigeria by extension”.
