He won the car in a task before his exit on October 2, 2025, after a clash with fellow housemate Sultana.

The show’s organiser’s confirmed that Faith would retain the car since he earned it before his disqualification.

Faith was visibly excited when he inspected the car, asking about its battery level and checking the display showing the battery status.

Some fans and critics initially doubted Faith would receive the prize due to his disqualification, but the show’s organisers have upheld the rules, allowing him to keep the car.

This win marks Faith’s second major prize of the season, following his earlier success in the SuperKomando challenge.

  • Why Nigeria must take lead in Africa’s auto sector, by Innoson founder

Why Nigeria must take lead in Africa’s auto sector, by Innoson founder

Founder of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Chief Innocent Chukwuma, has declared that Nigeria is on the brink of becoming Africa’s automotive manufacturing hub, provided the government continues to support local production through favourable policies.

Speaking during an interview on national television, Chukwuma revealed that Innoson is 97 percent ready to go public and urged other industrialists to seize the growing opportunities in the country’s auto manufacturing sector.

He praised the current administration’s “Nigeria First” policy for beginning to draw international interest, including foreign investors seeking strategic partnerships with local manufacturers.

“Once Nigeria’s policies support local manufacturing effectively, more people will establish industries,” Chukwuma said. “But when investors see manufacturers struggling to survive, it discourages further investment.”

He disclosed that potential partners from across the world have contacted him about collaborating or setting up new automobile factories in Nigeria—signs, he said, of growing confidence in the sector.

Chukwuma stressed that Nigeria’s dominance in Africa’s auto space will only materialise if more players join the industry.

He added that the growth of vehicle manufacturers would naturally attract component factories such as engine and parts plants, thereby boosting Nigeria’s overall industrial capacity.

“I’m not saying that you allow only me to be doing that, I want more people to join. Motor manufacturing is an industry of industries; it has so many components,” he explained.

“If you have many factories that are doing motors here, I believe even the engine factory will be here. Even so, many items factories will be here; Nigeria will move,” he added.

In response to a question about whether Innoson Motors would list on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Chukwuma confirmed that the process is well underway.

“I am 97 per cent in the door of going public. We are 97 per cent done. You know, it’s not something you just walk in and do; there’s a process. Our process now, we are 97 per cent at the finish line,” he affirmed.

“Beyond profit, Chukwuma maintained that his motivation is to contribute to national development and industrial self-reliance.

“We are not only doing this for personal gains, we are doing it to support our nation, so that our nation will be great. That is the main thing, it’s not only to make money,” he said.

President Bola Tinubu’s administration recently unveiled a new ‘Nigeria First Policy’ aimed at promoting industrialisation and national development by prioritising local content in government procurement, contracts, and business practices.

The policy seeks to reduce reliance on imported goods and services where local alternatives exist, strengthen domestic industries, boost the use of locally sourced raw materials, and drive job creation through increased support for indigenous businesses.

Innoson Chairman Chukwuma to Nigerians: be patient with Tinubu’s govt

    • ‘Fed Govt’s CNG programme best for country’s transportation’

The Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Chief Innocent Chukwuma, has urged fellow Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

He expressed confidence that the country would witness positive changes soon.

The IVM boss described the Federal Government’s CNG policy as the “best idea for transportation” in Nigeria, citing numerous benefits for the citizens.

Chukwuma said this while addressing reporters after a meeting with President Tinubu at the State House yesterday in Abuja.

The IVM boss expressed confidence in the President’s ability to make the country greater, citing his personal knowledge of Tinubu’s leadership style.

He urged Nigerians to give the administration more time to implement its policies, confident that the results would be evident soon.

Chukwuma said: “I decided to talk to him because of how things are and encouraged him. People must be patient with him. This President, I know him, I know how he behaves. They should give him time. Everything they want; they will see a better Nigeria. They should just give him a little more time. I’m begging Nigerians to calm down for him.

“So, let everybody be patient because everybody knows that the previous government sold oil, collected the money and didn’t supply. This government is just supplying. It hasn’t got the money. So, they should give them time. Everything will be fine.

“The way I see him, he wants better things for this country. I’m encouraging everybody to be patient. There’s no need to destroy our things; there’s no benefit in destroying our infrastructure. Our benefit is in waiting for him to be calm to plan for the future of this country.”

Commenting on the partnership between Innoson Motors and the government, Chukwuma said it was ongoing and would soon lead to a widespread presence of Innoson Motors across Nigeria.

The IVM boss lauded the government’s policy on the CNG, describing it as the “best idea for transportation” in Nigeria.

He listed the numerous benefits of the policy for citizens.

Chukwuma announced that his company started producing CNG vehicles two years ago and had remained committed to increasing production to meet demand.

“I started CNG about two years ago. I was the first to start CNG in this country. As I came here, the issues about CNG will be over. I’ve discussed with them and they will see that in a short time, the masses will have enough CNG buses on the roads,” he said.

“It’s the best idea for transportation in this country because there are a lot of benefits for Nigerians to use CNG. It was those benefits I saw that led me to start the factory to produce CNG vehicles because I started producing CNG before the announcement.

  • Innoson to deliver 29 vehicles to Army

Nigeria’s indigenous car manufacturing company, Innoson Motors would by the end of the month deliver 29 of its vehicles to the Nigerian Army.

This was disclosed by the founder and chairman of the company, Chief Innoson Chukwuma when a team of army personnel from the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army led by its General Officer Commander, Major General Emmanuel Kabuk paid a visit to the Nnewi plant of the company.

Chukwuma also said that the company would be training 10 technicians of the Nigerian Army in the factory so as to prepare them to handle and effectively maintain the vehicles.

The Innoson chief thanked the Chief of Army Staff for the patronage so far, adding that he looks forward to more effective collaboration between his company and the Nigerian Army.

Earlier in his speech, the GOC 82 Division, Enugu who came in the company of Commander 302 Artillery Regiment Onitsha, Commanders of 82 Military Intelligence Brigade and 82 Division Provost Group as well as the Deputy Director Public Relations 82 Division said that they were at the facility demanded to know the progress done so far in the manufacturing of the 29 modern hilux vehicles ordered for by the Nigerian Army for the recently promoted AWO.

According to Kabuk, bringing the 29 vehicles into the Army fleet was in line with the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai’s vision of enhancing professionalism and responsiveness among personnel.

The GOC was received and conducted round by Chukwuma and some top management staff of the  motor company.

  • APGA, APC trade words over Obiano’s trip

The government of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the All Progressive Congress (APC),  are in war of words in Anambra State, over Governor Willie Obiano’s trip to Austria to import Tricycles

APC accused Obiano of abandoning Innoson motors company to negotiate with foreign manufacturers on importation of tricycles to the state,  describing it as a waste.

This was contained in a statement on Friday in Awka,  by the Zonal Publicity Secretary of the party,  Mr. Igboeli Arinze.

But in a swift reaction on Friday, the state Commissioner for information and public enlightenment, Mr C-Don Adinuba, described the statement as a combative ignorance.

He said the party was trumpeting its own values, adding that the Governor was in Austria on the invitation of the Nigerian Ambassador to the country, Mrs S N C Okeke for business opportunities

Furthermore, Adinuba said Innoson does not manufacture Tricycles, noting that Anambra was the highest patronisers of Innoson vehicles in Nigeria.

He added that Obiano recently purchased 40 vehicles which the state donated to some groups, while another 60 had equally been booked from the same Innoson manufacturing company.

Adinuba further faulted the statement , adding that the Governor never said he would replace motorcycles with keke napep, rather, that he would replace them with Shuttle buses.

Read Also: Obiano: no going back on Okada ban

However, APC wondered why the presence of vehicle manufacturing firms like Innoson which was sited in the state, would be left by the APGA government for a foreign firm.

“it is indeed contrary to all the dictates of reasoning for the governor to visit Austria with the intention of getting foreign coupling companies to produce these tricycles also known as Keke Napep for use in Anambra State”

According to the statement, which was made available to reporters yesterday in Awka, ” With the impromptu ban on the use of Okada by the present government of Anambra State, without giving any consideration to the plight of ndi Anambra who have indeed suffered increased hardship following the ban, the APC condemned such an action and did not buy into the bourgeoisie reasons offered by this administration in its deliberate attempts to impose hardship on the people”

“Be that as it may, we as a people oriented party did expect that this administration would put in place palliatives to ease the burdens of such a rash action but to our dismay this was not the case”

“Rather, we have it on good  authority that the governor, in what we describe as a jamboree went to Austria to seek investors for the coupling of transport vehicles for use in Anambra State”

“This is ridiculous and a sheer case of policy summersaults, for indeed Anambra is not lacking in these industries. What stops Governor Obiano from visiting Innoson for the procurement of these vehicles?

“Is the governor not aware of the huge costs such a trip as well as business would have on the states finances compared to what the state will benefit should such jobs go to our manufacturers?

Regarding the 2019 elections, the party stated that the APC in Anambra Central would field quality candidates who in turn would retire the present holders of legislative seats, both at federal and state levels.

  • Alleged fraud: Court orders EFCC to produce Innoson

Justice Olusola Williams of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Wednesday ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to produce the chairman of Innosson Motors Limited, Innocent Chukwuma in court for arraignment.

Justice Williams made the order following the absence of Chukwuma in court to face forgery charges preferred against him by the EFCC.

The judge said: “I believe it is the job of the prosecution to bring the defendant to court. The judge is just to make an order that he should appear in court. But we cannot enforce the order. The responsibility of enforcing the order still lies on the EFCC to make sure he is in court.”

Innoson had on six occasions failed to appear before Justice Mojisola Dada of same court.

The development made Justice Dada to declare him wanted following the failure of the Commission to produce him in court.

Justice Dada later withdrew from Innoson’s trial on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC) following a February 12 petition against her by the businessman.

The matter was subsequently re-assigned to Justice Williams.

  • Drama as Innoson’s counsel engages court in war of words over jurisdiction

A mild drama ensued on Tuesday at an Ikeja Special Offences Court as the chairman of Innoson Motors Nigeria Limited, Innocent Chukwu failed to appear in court for his arraignment, for the fourth time.

Innoson had previously failed to face charges of alleged fraud preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission on January 17February 9 and March 14.

At the last sitting of the court on March 14,  Innoson through his counsel, Mr George Uwechue (SAN),  was said to have petitioned the National Judicial Council (NJC) over Justice Mojisola Dada, the judge trying the case.

He was said to have expressed doubts of getting a fair trial before the judge.

At resumed sitting of the court yesterday, Justice Dada told Innoson’s defence team led by Mr Uwechue that she would not hear any application brought by them in the absence of the defendant.

“No application will be moved in the absence of the defendant, my position remains the same.

“You can bring a thousand applications before me for all I care but no application can be heard in this court without the presence of the defendant,” Justice Dada said.

Earlier,  Uwechue had moved that the defence has an application challenging the jurisdiction of the court to entertain the charges brought against his client by the EFCC.

He argued: “where there is an application before the court challenging jurisdiction, the court has a duty to hear the application even in the absence of the defendant.” Justice Dada, however, insisted that she will not hear any application until Innoson was present in court.

Uwechue, apparently taken aback by the response of the trial judge, insisted that his application must be taken by the court.

“You cannot stand me down My Lord, you cannot stampede me My Lord. I’m an octogenarian, I’m 50 plus years at the bar,” Uwechue shouted.

But Justice Dada would not be moved with the outburst of the defence counsel but rather retorted that that is the more reason why Uwechue should be better composed and comported, and mustn’t   injure himself.

The heat generated by Uwechue’s outburst, further led to an exchange of words between the senior lawyer, Prof. J. N Mbadugha and the lead prosecuting counsel for the EFCC, Mr Anselem Ozioko.

At a point, Uwechue threatened to quit legal practice because of the conduct of Ozioko, the EFCC counsel.

Ozioko had told the court earlier that proceedings can go on despite the petition written to the NJC against Justice Dada by the defendant.

“I have it on good record that where there is a petition against a court, the court can proceed with the matter.
We have the NJC’s directions to that effect so that we can proceed with the case.

“I have also been served with many processes today by the defence one of which is a motion asking the court to set aside a process that my learned friend, Mbadugha, had received in open court.

“I’m sure that he realizes that it will affect him negatively, that is why he brought the motion,” he said.

The EFCC prosecutor added that the anti-graft commission was taking steps to ensure Innoson’s attendance in the next court date.

Mbadugha, who is also the defence lawyer for Innoson Motors Nigeria Ltd, had also told the court that he had through an appeal, challenged the jurisdiction of the court to hear the case.

“We have not been availed of the NJC’s directive, we have gone to the court of appeal as regards jurisdiction,” Mbadugha said.

Chukwuma and his company, Innoson Motors Nigeria Limited are to be arraigned on a four-count charge of conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses, obtaining property by false pretenses, stealing and forgery.

According to the charge sheet, the defendants committed the offences between 2009 and July 2011 in Lagos.

The EFCC had alleged that defendants, with intent to defraud, conspired to obtain by false pretenses, containers of motorcycle, spare parts and raw materials, property of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) from Mitsui OSK Lines Limited, Apapa, Lagos.

They were alleged to have fraudulently induced staff of Mitsui OSK and Maersk Line to deliver to them via their clearing agents the goods which were imported from China in the name of GTB by falsely pretending that they were authorised by the bank to clear the goods.

The prosecution claimed that the defendants forged a bill of lading numbered 598286020 of Maersk Line Limited and 11007950841 of Mutsui O.S.K Lines by knowingly putting a false GTB stamp and signature of the bank staff in order to facilitate the fraud.

It was alleged that the forged documents were meant to be used or acted upon as genuine to the prejudice of any person within Lagos or elsewhere.

The EFCC said the offences contravened Sections 1(1)(b), 1(3), and 8(a) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act 2016 and Sections 309(9), 388, 465 and 467(1)(j) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State 2003.

Justice Dada adjourned the matter until May 24 for arraignment of the automobile boss.

  • Ohanaeze Ndigbo: Innoson boss is being victimised

Ohanaeze Ndigbo: Innoson boss is being victimised

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has defended the Chief Executive of Innoson Motors, Innocent Chukwuma, condemning the current travails he is being subjected to.

The group said its attention has been drawn to a court action instituted against “the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Innoson Nigeria Limited, Chief Innocent Chukwuma in which he is being charged, ostensibly, of obtaining Custom documents fraudulently.”

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emeka Attamah said: “Cognizant of the matter being in court and without any pretence to the veracity of the case or otherwise, Ohanaeze Ndigbo views the current travails of Chief Chukwuma as another attempt at hounding another son of Igboland who, out of personal enterprise and hard work, has helped in shaping the economic and industrial fortunes of Nigeria.

“We frown at this recent attempt to obfuscate the victory won by Innoson’s Group against a leading bank. We see the current twist in the whole affair as a deliberate attempt to put Chief Chukwuma on the defensive in a matter that clearly vindicates and confers a lot of financial advantage on him. It will also taint his reputation by introducing a criminal angle to an already settled civil proceeding.

“Ohanaeze is carefully studying this discriminatory treatment of his adversaries and the law enforcement agents with a view to reviewing the patronage of our people to any economic establishment found to be associated in this new criminal assault of Chief Innocent Chukwuma.

“We will no longer do business with any organisation that denigrates the best of our people.”

  • Court issues bench warrant for arrest of Innoson Group boss

Court issues bench warrant for arrest of Innoson Group boss

Justice Mojisola Dada of an Ikeja high court yesterday issued a bench warrant for the arrest  of the Chairman of Innoson Group, Innocent Chukwuma, for failing to appear before the court to face his trial.

Justice Dada ordered that Mr Chukwuma should be arrested and kept in custody until March 14, 2018 for arraignment.

Justice  Dada issued the bench warrant following the failure of the defendant to appear in court for the second time for arraignment on criminal charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against him.

“A bench warrant is hereby served on Innocent Chukwuma. He will remain in custody till the next adjourned date.

“The case is adjourned till March 14 for possible arraignment,” Justice Dada said.

Earlier, during the proceedings, a mild drama ensued in the courtroom, with Justice Dada threatening to commit to prison, Prof. J. N Mbadugha, the defence counsel for Innoson and Innoson Motors Limited, for contempt of court.

Charles Chukwuma, a third defendant, who was not present in court, had no legal representation.

Rather than justifying why his client was not in court, Mbadugha in anger told the court that there are pending applications before her lordship and the Court of Appeal which had to be entertained before there could be further proceedings on matter before the court.

But the judge insisted that he could only address her after his clients are in the dock.

In anger the defence counsel demanded that the judge disqualify herself from the trial.

He further told the judge that she was overriding the Supreme Court decision.

The judge  attempted to calm him down,  tactfully reminding  him to respect and address the court, but the defence counsel refused to be persuaded.

Mbadugha in his address retorted: “This proceeding is a clear abuse of court processes. The EFCC is a reckless arbiter.

“My Lord has refused to be bound by the rule of law and doesn’t want to be bound by the doctrine of Stare Decisis; my Lord wants to override the decision of the Supreme Court.”

Justice Dada, in response, said: “Your whole comportment, conduct, countenance smack of disrespect to the court and rule of law. I will report you to the Nigerian Bar Association.

“You are insulting the court. This is clear contempt in the face of the court. You will go to prison from here, if you think the court is defenceless and powerless, you’d be surprised.”

In his response, Mbadugha threw caution to the wind and said he was ready to be charged for contempt, and even make all sacrifices for his client.

At this stage, the court asked him, “so you are ready to go to prison for your client? Do you realize you have committed contempt in the face of the court and you can be sent  to prison?”

Realizing the import of his outbursts against the court, Mbadugha quickly  tendered an apology to the court, saying: “I am sorry, My Lord, I hope the court gives me a second opportunity.

“I want to urge the court to temper justice with mercy. To err is human, but to forgive is divine.”

The defence counsel apologized to the court, saying he had withdrawn his earlier statements and was forgiven.

EFCC counsel, Mr. A.B.C Ozioko, while  addressing the court,  asked that a bench warrant be served on the defendants for non-appearance at the court.

He  faulted arguments of the defence that they appeared before the Senate Committee on corruption on same issue, but failed to come to court to answer charges.

“We were here on the 17th of January, but the defence was represented by a lawyer and you made an order to serve the lawyer. We have another person who is here on behalf of the first and second defendants. They were physically present at the National Assembly on Wednesday, but the wise senators decided this is a matter already before the court. They have respect for the legislative assembly but none for the court. “

He explained further that the defendants have criminal charges against them and they have to come to court.

He expressed surprise that his learned friend was in court full of venom and disrespect for the court.

He said: “The first and second defendants are not here because he has advised them not to be here. He has told those who are not lawyers not to be here. But whatever the case, having been duly served, they have submitted to the court, their lawyer is here, the other lawyer was here to represent them.

When Justice Dada, however, inquired about the third defendant from  Mr. Ozioko, he replied “we got across to the third defendant. We are prepared to amend the charge. However, we shall be applying for a bench warrant on all the defendants particularly the second defendant.

The judge granted the request of the prosecution and issued a bench warrant for the arrest of  Mr. Chukwuma.

The court ordered that he should be arrested and kept in custody until  the next adjourned date, March 14, 2018.
