    ‘Nasarawa urged to win Sunday’s Federation Cup’

    Ahead of the 2016 Federation cup finals in Lagos this Sunday,  Nasarawa  State  Deputy  Governor, Silas Agara has charged   players  and officials of Nasarawa  United football club of Lafia to win the trophy as 20th anniversary gift to the State.

    The Deputy Governor gave the charge during a farewell dinner for the Lafia based team who were due to depart the State for a pre-final camping in Ibadan, Oyo State.

    Mr. Agara   maintained that  the  team’s remarkable qualification  for  the  epic final was a big honour to the Government and the people of Nasarawa State, especially as this is the first time that any football team from the State will be playing at that stage since the State creation 20 years ago.

    He further charged the boys and their officials to win the trophy and engraved their names in gold and re-writes the history of sports in the State.

    According to Mr. Agara, who is the pillar of sports in Nasarawa State, the victory will ensure that the teams return to continental   championship for two consecutive years, while the players will   remain heroes and role models to young athletes in the State.

    He however assured the team of support of government and the people of Nasarawa State who will be mobilized in their numbers to Lagos to cheer them to victory.

    Club Chairman, Barrister Isaac Danladi  appreciated  the moral, financial and physical support of government and the people of Nasarawa State so far and assured of their determination to deliver the trophy to the State.

    Nasarawa United is due to square up with Ifeanyi Ubah FC of  Inewi,  Anambra  State  in the epic final at the Teslim Balogun Stadium  in   Lagos on Sunday, 6th  November, 2016.

    Glo Premier League officiating fair, says Nasarawa’s boss

    The Chairman of Nassarawa United FC, Isaac Danladi, on Monday described officiating at the ongoing Glo Premier League as fair.

    He, however, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that there was still room for improvement. Danladi said the number of away victories could not be translated to indicate good refereeing.

    “So far, officiating has been okay, but there is still room for improvement as some people still complain, despite being fair. And the fact that people win away matches does not necessarily mean that officiating is at its best.

    “We are human; we all make mistakes as humans. So, it is expected that they fall short once in a while during matches. But so far, their effort should be commended; it could be better,’’ Danladi said.

    Club Owners visit injured Heartland officials

    The Leadership of the Club owners Association in Nigeria, last Sunday visited the Federal Medical center Owerri In Imo state, south-East Nigeria, to sympathize with the injured Chairman and the Secretary of Heartland FC who were involved in a road mishap. The delegation led by the Ag. Chairman of the Club Owners Barrister Isaac Danladi were received by a top official of the Owerri club Mr Tonnex Chukwu, who in turn took them to the recuperating officials.

    The Club owners boss extended the sympathy message on behalf of the entire club owners and thereafter prayed for the quick recovery of the two key officials of the team.

    Barr. Danladi further assured the injured officials and the management of Heartland FC of the continuous supports of the Club owners especially in this trying period of their being hospitalized.

    Responding, the officials thanked the leadership and Members of the club owners for their concern and thanked God for saving their lives from the auto crash.

    It would be recalled that both the chairman of Heartland FC, Chief Fan Ndubuoke and the Club coordinator/Secretary Mr Oscar Keke were involved in a road accident while on club assignment in Imo State, where they sustained serious injuries.

    The Association Nigeria premier league club chairmen and Managers (club owners) have hailed the superb performance of the Nation under 17 golden Eaglets for the record victory at the just concluded teenage world cup in Dubai, UAE. The body in a statement jointly signed by the Ag. chairman Barr. Isaac Danladi (Nasarawa utd) and the Ag. Secretary Alloy Chukwuemeka (ABSFC) described the Eaglets performance as excellent with the highest degree of commitment and patriotism. The club owners praised the NFF, the NSC and above all President Goodluck Jonathan for his high spirit of sportsmanship and support which earned Nigeria the Goodluck to victory. They however urged the president to give more supports to the NFF to ensure outright qualification of the Super Eagles for the senior World Cup.

  • Nassarawa boss backs N150,000 salary for league players

    Isaac Danladi, Chairman, Nassarawa United FC says the proposed N150,000 for Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) players as salary is feasible.

    Danladi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos that this would raise the living standards of the players.

    The League Management Company (LMC) had raised the idea of making it mandatory for clubs to pay their players not less than N150,000 to improve their living standard.

    The chairman added that there should be a mechanism in place to ensure that clubs complied by enforcing it.

    “It’s necessary for us to enforce this to ensure that clubs comply. We in Nassarawa hold our players in high esteem and we do not joke with their welfare.

    “It is feasible for clubs to pay that even more. It is possible, if you ask me? I think they deserve more provided that we have the means to pay.

    “Although I am not sure that any manager is aware of this proposal, we just read it on the pages of newspapers,’’ Danladi said.

    Nassarawa FC boss did not, however, say from where the clubs could raise such huge bills.
