    Foundation honours best students

    Iyalode Theresa Laduntan Oyekanmi Foundation has honoured two best graduates in Community Health Nursing and Pubic Health Nursing from the Nursing Education Department, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, for their commitment to achieving academic excellence.

    The foundation said it is committed towards empowering, inspiring and uplifting women, children and indigent people with special interest in health and education.

    Speaking at the presentation of awards by the foundation held at the School of Nursing Hall, UCH, Ibadan, one of the recipients of the award, Praise Mattew, a graduate of Community Health Nursing, thanked the foundation for the generosity, praying that God would continue to bless the foundation.

    In commemoration of 2025 International Women’s Day, the foundation, in honour of lyalode Laduntan Oyekanmi, supported expectant mothers by distributing essentials materials to them during the anti-natal clinic at Idi-Ogungun Primary Health Centre, Agodi, lbadan.

    Mrs Sade Adebayo, daughter of Iyalode Oyekanmi, said: “Our foundation recognises the importance of maternal health and the challenges that come with it.

    “This is why we have put together these care packages, containing essential items, to support you and your unborn babies.

    “These donations are more than just material goods; they represent our commitment to supporting the most vulnerable members of our community. We believe every woman deserves access to quality health care, education and economic opportunities.”

    UCH best nursing graduates get honour

    Iyalode Theresa Laduntan Oyekanmi Foundation has honoured two best graduates in Community Health Nursing and Public Health Nursing from Nursing Education Department of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

    Olayinka Tejuosho and Oluwabusola Onakunle were honoured by the foundation during graduation at Prof. Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, UCH, Ibadan.

    Plaques and cash were given to the students.

    The foundation said it empowers, inspires, uplifts women, children and indigent students of health and education.

    It noted those were the expertise of Iyalode Oyekanmi as a trained nurse and teacher.

    Oyekanmi is a respected women leader and traditional chief of Ibadanland. The foundation was established in her honour to give to society.

    Tejuosho said: “I was surprised, as I was not expecting it. So, I will like to say thank you to the foundation for the award given to me today.

    “This is like an encouragement for me because the certificate in Community Health Nursing is a stepping stone. Because of this motivation, I will put in more efforts so I can continue to get better.”
