    LAGOS State Acting Commissioner for Transportation Prince Anofiu Elegushi will today distribute life jackets to boat operators in Ilase and its neighbouring riverine communities.

    The event which will take place at the Ilashe Plank Jetty, Ilashe, in the Oriade Local Council Development Area of the state is to protect boat users.

    Twelve persons died when a boat capsized in Ilase on Sunday.

    A statement by the state’s Ferry Services Chairman Mr Paul Kalejaiye and the Waterways Authority General Manager Ms Abisola Kamson, said the gesture was to stem the recurring deaths from boat accidents.
