Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed that the infamous slap incident on Chris Rock by Will Smith during the Oscars ceremony saved her marriage with the actor.
Jada stated in an interview with Daily Mail that the event was a turning point in her life and that it made her realise she would never leave Will.
She referred to the incident’s aftermath as the “holy slap,” highlighting the fact that the contentious moment was followed by beneficial developments.
She said: “That moment of the sh!t hitting the fan is when you see where you really are. After all those years trying to figure out if I would leave Will’s side, it took that slap for me to see I will never leave him. Who knows where our relationship would be if that hadn’t happened?”
