    How I struggled as a teen mother – Jasmine Okafor

    Jasmine Okafor, the adopted daughter of late actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has reflected on her motherhood journey and how she became a mother as a teenager. 

    Celebrating her son’s 10th birthday today, 27-year-old Okafor shared photos with the son in matching outfits, reflecting on her journey as a young mother.

    Okafor, who became pregnant at a young age, revealed that she faced pressure to abort her child, with many warning that it would harm her career and future.

    However with the support of her mother, she found the courage to continue with the pregnancy.

    Okafor urged young mothers to love their children, despite societal pressures.

    She also revealed that her experience has inspired her to consider adopting more children in the future.

    She wrote: “Happy Birthday Son. Imagine being 20 Plus and having a son that’s 10 ! What felt like the biggest mistake of my life at the time, became my biggest blessing today !

    “I was told to abort this child, that I was too young, that it will affect my career, that I was a teenager, somehow I managed to summon courage to carry on ! I don’t know how I did it , My mum she became his mum, oh my mum, I owe everything to you !

    “Imagine raising a kid all by yourself and the father tells you he’s not ready for kids ! And till now it’s just me my boy my mum ,and guess what ? We have never lacked anything good! It’s been God! It’s been such a ride!

    “Which is why lately am open to adopting more kids! It’s an emotional day for me! Say No To Abortion! I Love You Son! Happy Birthday.”

    Every good I did translated to evil, Mr. Ibu’s adopted daughter Jasmine mourns

    Jasmine Okafor, the adopted daughter of late veteran actor, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu, has mourned him.

    Jasmine, in a lengthy post on her Instagram page, noted how the good deeds she did for him were translated to evil and were paid in hundred folds with evil.

    According to her, the hatred was from the same people who weren’t there for him during his trying times.

    Jasmine further stated how the late actor always promised her that the day he would speak, the world will listen, unfortunately, that day is never going to see the light following his death.

    She said despite all the allegations against her, Mr Ibu appreciated her till his last moment.

    Jasmine stated that the pains he endured in the last few days, he did it with a smile.

    However, she wouldn’t mourn his death but the pains he had to endure as he had undergone 15 successful surgeries.

    She wrote: “Goodnight papa! You will forever be remembered for the love you gave, and the laughter you brought am grateful to God that I was able to give back that love till the very end.

    “Despite all that was said, every single good I did was translated to €vil, you always promised me that the day you would speak, the world would listen and that gave me the audacity to carry on.

    “Now I am broken because that day is never coming, maybe the stories will never end, maybe the bull¥ing will never stop but I know and I’m grateful for the ray of hope you gave me even when you felt hopeless.

    “Every single good I did was paid In hundreds folds with €vil , from the hands of the same people who were never really there for you when you needed them the most but Daddy you know what matters the most amidst all these accusations? You never talked down on me, you appreciated me till your very last moment.

    “The pains you endured in the last days, you did with a smile, I am not mourning your d€ath, I’m mourning all the pains you had to endure, over 15 successful surgeries, you are indeed a fighter! You fought d€ath severally until its claws successfully overpowered you.

    “I hope you find true happiness, peace, and rest in the bosom of God! Make sure God laughs at all your jokes and Angels roll on the floor from every conversation with you…

    “I lost a hero, Heaven gained an Angel. Adieu Papa!!!”.
