    JOHN DUMELO: I won’t rush into marriage

    Top Ghanaian actor and business man, John Dumelo, seems not to be interested in quitting bachelorhood for now.

    Although there have been pressures from all quarters for him to settle down, he said he is still taking his time to say, “I do” to anyone.

    In a recent interview, he said, “People rush into marriage and their marriage plummets within a short time, while some people relax and wait for God’s time and enjoy the best marriage.”

    He said this when he made some donations to widows at Ada Foah Kewumor in the Volta Region during the last Valentine’s Day.

    The actor, who also said marriage is not compulsory, further said, “Yes, people are giving me pressure to marry, but they need to know that it is not a nine-day wonder and one can’t just wake up and get married.”

    Commenting on the donations via his John Dumelo Foundation, the actor said the foundation had assisted over 1000 school children across the world in the past two years.

    He, however, disclosed that he would update his fans on the opening of his new hotel/apartment called ‘Maselo’

    IT was a large turnout of movie stars on Monday when the Ghana Movie Awards 2013 held in a grand style at the popular Accra International Conference Centre.

    Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo, beat Majid Michel, Kofi Adu (Agya Koo) and James Gardiner to clinch the award for the ‘A Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role’.

    Joselyn Dumas also beat Lydia Forson, Roselyn Ngissah and others to claim the ‘Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role’ award.

    Jackie Appiah once again won the 2013 ‘A Performance by an actress in a Leading Role’ award in a contest that involved Yvonne Okoro, Maame Serwaa, Sonia Ibrahim and Yvonne Nelson.

    Lil Win, Shirley Frimpong Manso, Ken Attoh and Leila Djansi also took home some deserving awards.

    It was reported that top Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim, would be attending the Ghana Movie Awards in a Rolls Royce Phantom to the venue.

    According to report, Juliet Ibrahim was expected to enjoy a luxury cruise in a Rolls Royce Phantom to the venue, courtesy of Ciroc Mottos, over her award as the “The Favourite Actress of the Year”.

    Nigerian screen queen, Monalisa Chinda; former BBA star, Confidence, and others were present to show their support.

    GHANAIAN actor, John Dumelo has joined the league of screen icons who have found a love for the mic. Emerging reports have it that the Nollywood/Ghollywood act has taken up a career in music.

    In a latest development, the actor has recorded his first single, where he featured rapper, Sarkodie. The single will be released soon, as the actor turned singer has finished the studio work with Sarkodie last week.

    However, some industry players are taking the announcement with a pinch of salt, since the fine gentleman is not known to have a singing prowess.
