Real Sociedad ready to keep Sadiq Umar

Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has suggested that Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar could remain at the club for the upcoming season, following a strong showing during pre-season preparations.

Speaking to Noticias de Gipuzkoa, Aperribay revealed that the club’s position on the former Almería forward has shifted in recent weeks, largely due to his impressive attitude and performances in training at Zubieta.

Sadiq, who was previously linked with a potential summer move away from the La Liga side, appears to have won over the coaching staff with his renewed focus and work ethic.

“There’s been a complete turnaround in Sadiq’s case,” Aperribay said.

“The information I’ve received is that he has been training really well, just like the rest of the group at Zubieta. We’ve been speaking daily with Erik Bretos about how things are going in training, and Sadiq is doing very well. We’ll see what happens, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of him staying with us this season. I think that’s clear.”
