    2027: Oyo politicians form alliance

    Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS) Support Group has formed an alliance with Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) ahead of 2027 elections in Oyo State.

    The move signals Chief Jubril Sanusi’s intention to support the governorship ambition of Aderemi Oseni, a member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) and chairman, House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

    Sanusi, the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, described the alliance as a strategic step toward transforming Oyo State’s political and economic landscape.

    He hailed Oseni’s legislative accomplishments and dedication to developmental projects across the state, describing him as one of Oyo State’s most effective and committed lawmakers.

    Sanusi said the alliance was expected to engage stakeholders across the state, stressing the importance of unity and divine guidance in securing electoral victory.

    Stakeholders, including market leaders led by Iyaloja Saratu Konibaje, lauded Sanusi’s leadership and his decision to support Oseni, urging religious and grassroots leaders to support the alliance to drive sustainable development.

    The Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS) Support Group has entered into a strategic alliance with the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) to strengthen its influence ahead of the 2027 elections in Oyo State.

    The partnership was formalized during a high-level meeting held last weekend in Ibadan, the state capital, bringing together two influential political forces. 

    As part of the alliance, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, a philanthropist and owner of Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, Ibadan, announced his decision to withdraw from the gubernatorial race to support Engr. Aderemi Oseni, a federal lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA). 

    The meeting, attended by key stakeholders and prominent members of both groups, further solidified Oseni’s position as a formidable contender for the 2027 governorship race. 

    Speaking at the event, Chief Sanusi, who also holds the traditional title of Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, described the alliance as a significant step toward transforming Oyo State’s political and economic landscape.

    He praised Oseni for his legislative achievements and dedication to developmental projects, calling him one of the state’s most effective lawmakers. 

    Sanusi urged members of the alliance to engage stakeholders across the state, emphasizing the importance of unity and divine guidance to achieve electoral success.

    Stakeholders at the event, including market leaders led by Iyaloja Saratu Aduke Konibaje, commended Sanusi’s leadership and his decision to support Oseni.

    They called on grassroots and religious leaders to unite behind the alliance for sustainable development and pledged their unwavering support from market associations statewide. 

    Expressing his gratitude, Engr. Oseni thanked Chief Sanusi and the JDS Support Group for their confidence in his leadership. He reaffirmed his commitment to Oyo State’s development agenda, emphasizing his connection as a proud son of the Bogumbe Family from Akufo, Ibadanland. 

    In a show of his commitment to grassroots empowerment, Oseni launched a ₦50 million interest-free loan scheme for market traders across the state.

    Managed by Iyaloja Saratu Aduke Konibaje, the initiative aims to strengthen small businesses and lay the groundwork for a larger economic empowerment programme.
