Actress Juliana Olayode has spoken against what she described as hurtful rumours circulating within the entertainment industry, saying the claims have deeply affected her.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Olayode condemned the spread of falsehoods, describing lies about individuals as wrong and damaging, and questioned the motive behind such actions.

Olayode wrote, “There have been different stories and lies told about me in this industry. Never addressed any, but I heard one a few days ago that truly broke my heart. I don’t think people understand how destructive some words can be and how words can wound. I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would choose to lie about another human being. To what end? Why? It is true that I wouldn’t kiss in movies.

“It’s okay if you don’t like me. It’s okay if you say I’m not a good actor; it’s okay if you don’t want to work with me. But lying about me is deeply wrong and hurtful.

“So I want to clear the air. There is absolutely NO producer or director I cannot work with. None. I am open and willing to work with anyone, as long as the story and my role do not go against my consecration to God”.

How I battled depression, suicidal thoughts for three years – Juliana Olayode

Actress Juliana Olayode has opened up about her three-year battle with depression and suicidal thoughts, revealing she hid her pain.

In an Instagram post, Olayode described how depression made her realise the importance of joy, as her body shut down and she gained weight.

According to her, she tried therapy but found solace in her faith, crediting God with her complete healing.

She wrote, “I was depressed and suicidal for almost three years. Of course, I showed up every day, as if I wasn’t struggling or dying inside.

“Depression made me realise how much of a medicine joy is; my whole body was shutting down. I was diagnosed with a sort, and I gained so much, but still not as much as the weight I was carrying inside.

“If you have never experienced depression, you might downplay what people go through when they’re depressed. If you have never been suicidal, you might think that those who take their life are selfish, whereas to them, it’s their only means of escape.

“Therapy is great. I went to therapy too, but sometimes you need to return to your Maker for the perfect fix and guess what? It’s free. You need not pay a dime. You only have to be vulnerable with Him and say, “Fix me, Lord”.

“I thank God for complete healing and wholeness. Shared this because of the numerous DMs of people going through depression and having suicidal thoughts.

It is not the end! Don’t listen to that dark voice in your head. The sun will rise again. Give all your depressive and suicidal thoughts to God. Tell Him about everything. He’s going to help you. I promise you.

“Vulnerable post, I feel you, I really feel you. Don’t do it, don’t do it! What you’re dealing with is common to man, to humanity, and to life.

“If it’s happening to you, it’s because it can not consume you; it’s because you can come out of it. You think you have little or no strength for it, but inside of you lies so much strength and capacity to break free and come out whole.

“God loves you, God wants you healed and alive. You need to go to him. Please believe me. Sending you prayers, warm hugs and love. 1 Corinthians 10:13, Daniel 3:27”.

  • Why I abstain from s3x despite temptation – Juliana Olayode

Why I abstain from s3x despite temptation – Juliana Olayode

Actress Juliana Olayode has revealed the constant internal conflict she faces in upholding s3xual purity and moral integrity while navigating the pressures of fame, relationships, and career opportunities.

In a candid Instagram post, the Jenifa’s Diary star confessed that she experiences the same physical and emotional desires as anyone else, including the urge for intimacy, affection and s3xual fulfillment.

She emphasised that her abstinence is not due to a lack of temptation but a deliberate choice to prioritise her relationship with God.

According to her: “Sometimes when people talk to me about sex, purity etc I wonder if they think I don’t have blood flowing in my veins.

“It’s not that I don’t have all these feelings/desires, it’s not that I don’t want to be touched, it’s not that I don’t want to cuddle, it not that I don’t want to be kissed, it’s not that I don’t want to have a “hot sex” like some would say to me.

“It’s just that more than anything I love and honor God! And I hate to hurt Him. Everyday I have to make a choice, apart from my relationship with the opposite sex and sometimes same sex, because sadly, we live in a world full of perverts, I have to make a choice in my career as well! Should I take the role or should I not take it?”

Olayode disclosed that she regularly rejects film roles, financial deals, and high-profile projects that violate her principles.

She admitted to moments of self-doubt, describing times when declining lucrative offers makes her feel foolish or like a failure, especially amid online criticism questioning her career trajectory or accusing her of being manipulated.

“I’M NOT THE MOST HOLY PERSON AND I AM NOT WITHOUT SIN! But I do my best everyday to choose God over my feelings/desires, over my career, over money, over the next “blockbuster”, over anything.

“It’s not easy for me, I feel very stupid sometimes saying “no” to some deals/walking away from money/the next big project/ relationship etc.

“Sometimes I feel like a loser, especially when some ignorant people start running their mouth on social media, talking about we don’t see her in big movies, she has a failed career, is she still acting, she’s bla bla bla’s puppet, etc. I sometimes want to tell them about the many scripts I have to turn down for the sake of what I believe…IT IS NOT EASY,” she said.

The actress also addressed public concerns about her personal life, particularly whether she will find a partner willing to wait until marriage.

She expressed confidence in divine provision, stating that God reserves the best outcomes for those who remain faithful.

“Those who genuinely always worry about me and wonder if I’ll get a good man, if we’ll be compatible, if he’ll not be gay, if he’ll not be impotent, if I’ll get a man who would want to wait till marriage.

“I appreciate the love/concern and I PROMISE YOU I WILL! The God that I know gives the BEST GIFTS! Those who worry about my career, stop worrying”, she added.

While acknowledging her imperfections and past mistakes, Olayode framed her journey as one of daily renewal, choosing obedience over impulse in both personal conduct and professional decisions.

She concluded with gratitude for her path so far, affirming unwavering trust in sustained divine support regardless of immediate outcomes.

“God brought me here, tomorrow He might want me somewhere else who knows? In all, I know that God is a rewarder, but even if He doesn’t, (which He will) I’ll still be here, nothing is going to change. I’m grateful for the journey and opportunity so far, I know that the one who has held me down for this long will carry me till the end”.

Talent alone doesn’t make you shine, God does – Olayode

Nollywood actress, Juliana Olayode, has reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to her faith, stressing that her allegiance lies solely with God and not with the pressures of the entertainment industry.

The actress, who is a devoted Christian, said in a recent chat with The Nation that the truth of God’s word remains her ultimate guide in a world where information is plenty but truth is scarce.

“I feel like if you believe in something, stand on it. We live in a world of information that is devoid of the truth — and the truth, in the sense that a lot of us can’t take it. The truth that I know is the word of God,” she said.

Juliana noted that the fear of losing opportunities or jobs does not move her, adding that success in Nollywood is not merely about talent but God’s grace.

“At the end of the day, what are you afraid of? Are you afraid of losing your job, which you can still lose anyway? You can work effortlessly, but God is the one who makes people wealthy. I’m not afraid of anyone but God,” she declared.

According to her, visibility in Nollywood is not entirely a product of hard work or skill.

“You can do a thousand movies and nobody will hear about you. But the fact that people hear about you isn’t because you are that good. There are a thousand and one people that are better than you, but because God decided that you too will be seen and heard,” she explained.

On what guides her daily decisions, Juliana emphasised: “Who really has your allegiance should be God. That’s how I live my life.”

Juliana Olayode questions high cost of Aso-ebi in Nigerian weddings

Actress and content creator Juliana Olayode has expressed concerns over the rising cost of Aso-ebi at Nigerian weddings.

She shared this in an Instagram video on Sunday, questioning why couples can’t provide an affordable purchase price.

“Good evening, folks, happy Saturday to you. To those getting married, why is your Aso-ebi so expensive? I think you people need to start picking colours because we have all the colours, ombre, onion red, pink, and purple.

“How can you be selling your asoebi for 500,000 Naira for just three yards? After spending so much to buy the clothes, you still expect us to spray/give you money at the party. The thing is that even the party clothes you can’t wear after the wedding. Why can’t you sell your asoebi for 25,000 or 20,000? We can make lovely styles with it. What’s wrong with that?” she said.

She also highlighted the challenges guests face at weddings despite the heavy spending.

“People get married every other day, so why can’t we just make it easy for people to attend the wedding, or is the money for the asoebi you want to use for the wedding? When you get to the wedding, there’ll be no seats. Everywhere is packed with content creators. What is it?” she questioned.

She finally told the couples to either pick the expensive asoebi or have the guests spray them at the party.

“Then you expect them to spray you. For what? Because you pick one. Either you pick your asoebi, or you pick the spray. I don’t think asoebi has to be that expensive. Make the price reasonable. We want to come and celebrate with you. Don’t make us tired,” she concluded.

  • How I almost got initiated into witchcraft, by actress Juliana Olayode

How I almost got initiated into witchcraft, by actress Juliana Olayode

Actress Juliana Olayode, popularly known as Toyo Baby, has opened up about a chilling experience that almost led her into witchcraft, cautioning the public about the dangers of spiritual curiosity online.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Olayode revealed that she had been browsing her phone when she clicked on a suspicious ad that asked, “Have you ever broken a bone before?”

The moment she accessed the link, she said she felt an overwhelming and unsettling spiritual sensation that forced her to close it immediately.

Reflecting on the encounter, she warned that many seemingly harmless online prompts or trends could be subtle traps into the occult. “Witchcraft is everywhere,” she said, “and it often disguises itself as curiosity, enlightenment or fun.”

She cautioned her followers to avoid content that asks questions like “Do you know who you were in your past life?” or involves tarot cards, incense rituals, or certain music and movies, which she believes could serve as spiritual gateways.

The actress stressed that many people unknowingly expose themselves to dark spiritual influences through what they watch, listen to, or where they go. “You have to guard your heart and be spiritually sensitive,” she advised.

Juliana Olayode ended her message by urging her fans to remain prayerful, vigilant, and rooted in their faith in Jesus Christ.

She emphasised that true connection with God comes only through Christ, not through mysticism or spiritual experimentation.

Captioning the video, she wrote, “Witchcraft is everywhere these days, they’re not hiding anymore, they’re not waiting for midnight to fly, as most of us think. Witchcr@ft is everywhere around us.

“They operate every hour of the day, it looks very attractive, it looks like you’re on the right path, it looks like you’re trying to satisfy your curiosity, it looks “good” but be careful because not all that looks good is good.

“Don’t fall for the lie that you’ve been here before; nobody has. Also, just because they tell you something you’re experiencing or have gone through, doesn’t mean it’s through the right spirit. Remember Acts 16:16-18?

“Be careful what you expose yourself to, be careful who you expose yourself to, be careful of the ‘spiritual’ gathering you attend, be careful what church you go to, be very careful and very discerning.

“Like I said, you don’t have to click the link to be initiated, a lot of people are already initiated into witchcr@ft and they don’t even know. It probably happened through the movie they watched, the music they listened to, a novel they read, or a witch store they followed their friends to in the name of “collecting arts or pieces from a witchcraft-themed movie they saw.”

“Now you’re having nightmares, you notice a strange presence in your room, you’re depressed, you feel like something is following you, you hear strange voices or strange movements in your house, you have anxiety, or you live in so much fear.

“Some people will even be deceived into burning incense to remove dark energy, etc. It’s all a trap!!!

“Some of these things happen because you unconsciously gave these spirits access to your life. You gotta guard your gates, the gates to your soul. You gotta be very careful, very prayerful and highly discerning.

The enemy is not sleeping; he’s working relentlessly and subtly, and so much money is being pumped into this agenda as well.

“Lastly, the only way to God is through Jesus Christ, who is the son of God. If you want to experience God, if you want God, go through Jesus Christ.”

S3x drive among teenagers alarming – Actress Juliana Olayode

Actress Juliana Olayode popularly known as Toyo Baby has raised the alarm about the rising s3xual activity among teenagers, stressing that s3x is a spiritual matter that should be reserved for marriage.

She expressed dismay over the explicit conversations she hears from teens, attributing her own values to her mother’s strong moral guidance.

Citing Proverbs 22:6, Olayode warned that too much freedom can be harmful and urged adults to guide children rather than enable destructive behaviors.

“What is your body count? The things I hear these days especially from teenagers makes me speechless/breaks my heart. Whilst some people would say, enjoy your life while you’re young, make all the mistakes you want now, I don’t — that includes sexu@lly.

“S£x is spiritual, people only talk about the fun part, nobody really talks about the spiritual aspect of it. S£x and other sexu@l activities are for MARRIED people. I can write an epistle about this. The sex drive amongst teenagers these days is alarming, it often breaks my heart and keeps me wondering who lied to them.

“There are certain things I still cannot do now, I keep hearing my mother’s voice in my head. If we are not more intentional about the way we raise our children, we would not be happy about the kind of adults this generation would produce. What happened to train up a child in the way he should go and when he grows he will not depart from it? Proverbs 22:6

“We can not just give them a freehand, sometimes too much of freedom is destructive. There’s so much in my heart to say, for adults that view these content, if we can not correct them, let us not support them,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
