    K1 De Ultimate bags Champion of UN-SDGs Award

    Nigeria’s Internationally acclaimed musician, Olasukanmi Marshal, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate, has been appointed as UN-SDG Champion.

    The appointment was conferred by the Coalition of Civil Society on Sustainable Development (CACSDG), Ogun State Chapter,  was in recognition of the music Legend’s  contributions to  social cans cultural development of Nigerians, Africans and the diaspora.

    Presenting the appointment letter during an advocacy visit to the music mastreo at his ijebu Ode, Ogun State, country home Yesterday (Monday), the Coordinator of the Coalition, Ms Moji Akinsanya, explained that SDGs as  global goals to improve quality life of the citizen through needed collaboration of all stakeholders to pass the message,  and also support government in the realization of good governance.

    While, extolling the creativity and innovative music of K1, who has dominated the music scene over four decades, a Consultant on SDG, Mr.Tunde Oladunjoye, said K1’s music has over the years, changed the perception of the masses for positive lifestyle, patriotism and hard work, hence his choice as UN-SDG Champion.

    Responding, Olasukanmi  Marshal, K1 de Ultimate, endorsed the SDGs and commended members of the  Civil Society for their roles in developmental agenda, assuring that he would use his God-given talent to promote the ideals of SDGs.

    The formal decoration of the SDG Champions will hold during the international stakeholders Conference on SDG (ISTACON-SDG 18) to be hosted in Ogun State in March.

    The Conference with the theme “Achieving SDGs in Ogun State through integrated and innovative partnerships” would bring together Government Officials, Civil Society actors, the private sector, academia, media and other non-state actors.

    As K1 mourns daughter

    Life is like a multiple-track album. Some tracks are desirable songs of joy, others are unwanted dirges of loss. Fuji music maestro, K1 de Ultimate, is currently forced to listen to the latter as he recently lost one of his daughters Olaronke Wasilat Anifowose Marshal.

    The loss is doubly painful, considering that Wasilat was the only child of her late mother and one of K1’s favourites. The 34-year-old woman gave up the ghost in Mississauga, Toronto, after a brief illness. Although she moved to Canada over a decade ago, she remained close to her father who was also fond of her.

    Although the cause of her death remains yet unknown, fans have already started sending condolences to the bereaved musician even as a public statement on Wasila’s death is awaited.

    Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, known as K1 De Ultimate, has lost his daughter, Olaronke Ashabi last Tuesday.

    Putting speculations to rest, the singer took to Instagram to mourn the passing of the 34 years old whom he constantly referred to as his friend.

    “I give glory and thanks to God Almighty who gave you to me as a gift by you coming to this world for a purpose and through me, I have seen that severally while you were growing that I am privileged to be your father and also to the kind of a child that also double as my friend,” he wrote.

    According to him, all efforts through medical means failed, neither did her prayer and that everybody that loves her, bringing him to the realization that Allah Subhanalahi Watahala wants her around him in his paradise.

    “If you are able to look back right now this minute You will see how people across the globe are all trying to comfort me and soften my heart with many beautiful words and verses from both Quran and Bible, the books that guide us to our creator then you will agree with me your death is well celebrated as one already inAljanata,” the distraught singer added.

    The musician is reported to have 38 children. According to report, Olaronke happens to be one of his favourites.

    King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall is an artiste regarded as a novelty in African music with over 50 albums to his name. He gave birth to his last child in the year 2017.

    9ice, K1 De Ultimate for New York concert

    ORBIT Entertainment owned by Mike Fash is set to stage a concert that will see two Nigerian artistes take to the stage in a first of its kind show come Friday, March 29.

    The event which will take place at Tropical Reflections Ballroom, 4501, Glenwood Road, Brooklyn will feature K1 De Ultimate and hip hop star, 9ice, live on stage.

    DJ Tunez, D Afoo and Brave Boi Music Group will also showcase outstanding performances at the event which is slowly but surely gathering momentum.

    In a chat with Mike Fash, the CEO of Orbit Entertainment, the wave-making outfit which in the past have promoted the likes of Lanre Teriba (Atorise), Tope Alabi, Late Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Lagbaja, K1 De Ultimate, King Sunny Ade and Yinka Ayefele, to mention a few, he revealed that the concert will be the first time two Nigerian artistes will be performing together on stage in New York.

    Mike also revealed that K1 De Ultimate will also perform a duet on stage with 9ice.
