Great relief has come the way of two communities in Ado-Odo, Ado-Odo Ota local government area of Ogun state, as they took delivery of two solar-powered boreholes on Thursday.

The donation was facilitated by the Alliance for KAMOSKY, a coalition of friends and supporters of Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawale Yusuf, Personal Assistant to the President on Special Duties and Dr. Abdul-Lateef Sulaiman, who share in their vision to make society a better place by lending a helping hand to the less privileged.

Justifying the need for the good gesture, the spokesman of the group, Mr. Oladapo Edun, said it was borne out of the need to ameliorate the living conditions of the communities that have been suffering lots of privations more than they are willing to admit.

According to him, the project was facilitated by the duo as part of their own modest way of assisting the cause of the less privileged members of society.

While formally commissioning the two boreholes and presenting them to the members of both communities, Edun urged the beneficiaries to ensure the safety and security of the infrastructure.

“Bearing in mind the enormous efforts that went into putting these solar-powered boreholes in place, it is absolutely important that the communities take full responsibility for their safety and security. The water project will no doubt ease the burden of residents and market women within these neighbourhoods, so it behoves you all to take proper care of them,” he appealed.

Speaking on behalf of the two communities, one of the elders was effusive with praise for the donations, even as he prayed to God to continue to bless every cause and endeavour of their benefactors.

“Now our suffering has come to an end. Whether there is an electricity supply or not, we can easily fetch water with ease,” he said, even as he assured that the communities would help to safeguard the facility while appreciating the donors for their timely intervention.

Personal Assistant to the President on Special Duties, Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawale Yusuf, has distributed 10,000 bags of rice to vulnerable communities in Ogun State as part of his humanitarian efforts.

The initiative, supervised by the Ogun State City Boy Movement under Dr. Sulaiman Abdul-Lateef Adegboyega, targeted widows, widowers, students, and the less privileged across all zones of the state.

This effort follows an earlier distribution of 5,000 bags of rice during the Eid-il-Kabir (Ileya) festival, where Alhaji Yusuf supported Muslim faithful across the state. The recent distribution was coordinated with the help of various sub-groups, including Kamar’s Vanguard, KAMOSKY Loyalists, and the Asiwaju Support Groups.

Speaking during one of the distribution events, Alhaji Yusuf remarked that, “This is more than rice. It is a token of love, solidarity, and shared struggle. These are challenging times, and as leaders, formal or informal, we must rise to meet the needs of our people where it matters most.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Dr. Adeboyega, who led the coordination at the state level, praised Alhaji Yusuf’s generosity, describing the distribution as both symbolic and practical. He noted that in a period when many are struggling with the ripple effects of economic reforms, such acts of kindness help restore hope and foster a spirit of communal support.

“Leadership is about empathy and presence,” Dr. ADLAT stated. “This is not political, this is personal. Alhaji Yusuf has shown that he stands by his people not just in words, but in actions.”

The initiative reached several local government areas including Abeokuta North and South, Ifo, Sagamu, Ado-Odo/Ota, Ijebu-Ode, and Yewa communities. Volunteers and coordinators from the allied groups played crucial roles in ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the process.
