One such trailblazer is Dr. Kehinde Fafiyebi, whose relentless passion for development and unwavering dedication to service have earned him one of Africa’s highest youth honours.

In a momentous celebration of visionary leadership and continental impact, Dr. Fafiyebi, Chairman/CEO of Fafkay Integrated Services Company, has been honoured with the Kwame Nkrumah Leadership Prize for Excellence by the Council of African Youth (CAY) on Thursday, 15th May 2025.

The highly esteemed Pan-African award, themed “Beacon of Hope to Africa’s Development,” recognises Dr. Fafiyebi’s outstanding contributions to sustainable development, innovation, youth empowerment, philanthropy, and social transformation across the continent.

From his operational base in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, Dr. Fafiyebi has consistently led impactful initiatives that uplift communities, nurture future leaders, and promote Africa’s rich cultural and entrepreneurial heritage. His work reflects the same values of unity, servant leadership, and pan-Africanism that defined the legacy of Kwame Nkrumah.

Described as a “Voice of Hope and Symbol of Change,” Dr. Fafiyebi’s leadership journey has inspired many across national boundaries, proving that integrity, vision, and determination can be powerful tools for lasting change.

In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Fafiyebi shared an inspiring message:

“This award is not just mine. It belongs to every youth daring to dream, every entrepreneur building against the odds, and every African committed to making our continent greater. Let this be a reminder: the future of Africa lies in our hands — let’s shape it with purpose.”

The Council of African Youth commended Dr. Fafiyebi for being a shining example of transformative leadership and a true ambassador of the African Renaissance.

The ECOWAS Youth Council has appointed Engr. Dr. Kehinde Fafiyebi, CEO of Fafkay Integrated Services Company, as a Youth Ambassador in recognition of his contributions to economic growth, youth development, and entrepreneurial leadership in Nigeria.

The appointment was conferred during an official ceremony in Lagos attended by top business leaders, youth advocates, and government officials. The Council lauded Fafiyebi’s efforts in job creation, mentorship, and regional impact through his multi-sector company and youth-focused initiatives.

Reacting to the appointment, Fafiyebi expressed deep gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to driving youth empowerment across the continent.

“This honor is not just about me—it’s about the thousands of young Africans who are striving daily to change their narrative,” he said. “It’s a reminder that when young people are empowered with the right tools and opportunities, they can transform communities and drive economic growth.”

“I dedicate this recognition to every young entrepreneur working through challenges, breaking barriers, and daring to dream beyond limits,” he added.

Through Fafkay Integrated Services, Fafiyebi has created employment opportunities for hundreds of young professionals across sectors such as tourism, logistics, real estate, IT, and consultancy. His foundation has also provided scholarships, mentorship, and skills training for underprivileged youth.

As ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, he is expected to support policies that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional collaboration among young people.

“Africa’s greatest asset is its youth,” Fafiyebi emphasized. “My focus will be on ensuring they are not just seen, but heard, engaged, and empowered to lead.”

The ECOWAS Youth Council, an arm of the Economic Community of West African States, appoints ambassadors who have demonstrated excellence, service, and positive impact in their fields.

Plans are underway for a youth empowerment summit spearheaded by Fafiyebi’s foundation later this year, aimed at deepening dialogue and action on youth inclusion and development across the region.

In Nigeria, where over 200 ethnic groups shape a vibrant mosaic of traditions, languages, and perspectives, cultural diversity is proving to be a key driver of business success. Dr. Kehinde Fafiyebi, founder of FAFKAY Integrated Services, asserts that embracing this diversity can unlock a wealth of strategic opportunities for companies, particularly in dynamic markets like Nigeria’s.

Fafiyebi said, “Cultural diversity is essential for business expansion, especially in Nigeria and other African markets, which are rich in cultural variation. With over 200 ethnicities in Nigeria alone, this diversity should be seen as a strategic asset for companies looking to grow. The core benefits of embracing diversity include boosting creativity and innovation, improving financial performance, and accessing a broader talent pool.”

According to Fafiyebi, understanding and incorporating local cultural nuances is crucial for businesses seeking to thrive in competitive markets like Nigeria. He believes that businesses who understand the value of cultural diversity are positioned to drive innovation and tap into new markets, ultimately leading to greater success.

In recognition of his efforts, Fafiyebi was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2023 PERA Awards, an accolade he believes reflects the impact his company has had in the industry. “Winning the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Tourism category at the Nigerian Journalist Award and the Pera Award in Oyo State was a huge honor,” Fafiyebi shares.

“I was truly shocked, and it’s hard to put into words what it means to me. It feels incredible to be recognized by the Nigerian Journalist Oyo State Chapter, especially when I think of the innovators and trailblazers who have been honored before me.”

Fafiyebi, who has dedicated the past nine years to building FAFKAY Integrated Services, views the award as a recognition of his company’s unique approach. “Over the years, I’ve poured my heart into building FAFKAY Integrated Services, and this award is meaningful because it acknowledges not just our services but our commitment to providing strategic counsel to our clients,” he says. “We have consistently gone beyond the typical offerings of a Tourism and Technology agency, and I’m proud of this recognition. It motivates us to continue delivering excellence in all we do.”
