    Ihenacho dreams another goal bonus

Nigerian international Kelechi Ihenacho is hoping to register his name in the score sheet once more when Manchester City take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.

Ihenacho who scored the last goal in Manchester City’s 5-1 demolition of Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup replay Wednesday was part of intensive training on Friday ahead of the Sunday showdown.  The Super Eagles forward who has been named in Gernot Rohr list to face Teranga Lions of Senegal in a London friendly, burnt the calories alongside returnee Man City captain Vincent Kompany.

Kompany has been missing in three matches no thanks to injury. Interestingly Defender Aleksandar Kolarov is also fit again after a hamstring injury while Willy Caballero could return in goal after Claudio Bravo featured in the FA Cup in midweek.

Sunderland have lost each of their last five Premier League games against Manchester City since a 2-2 draw at the Etihad in April 2014.

City have won their last two Premier League visits to the Stadium of Light since a run of four consecutive 1-0 defeats between 2010 and 2013, and analysts believe the possibility of grabbing another win for the Citizens cannot be ruled out.

Ihenacho had shortly after the heavy defeat of Huddersfield Town taken to the social media to describe the victory as great result. “So blessed to get on the pitch, and the goal a bonus on to the next round” he had said while hoping for a repeat performance on Sunday

The Etihad Stadium outfit unveiled a new club suit on Monday, which is exclusively designed by renowned fashion brand DSQUARED2.

City and DSQUARED2, an Italian brand, announced their multi-year partnership in October last year. Since then, DSQUARED2 have dressed the club’s players and coaching staff in their pre-match outfits for away Champions League matches.

To celebrate the arrival of City’s new suit, the founders and designers, Dean and Dan Caten said: ‘We wanted the players to feel as confident in this suit as they do when they pull on their team jersey.

    Ihenacho eyes goal against Arsenal

It will be missed feelings should Super Eagles and Man City forward Kelechi Ihenacho score in English Premier League  clash against Arsenal on Sunday at the Ethihad Stadium.

Ihenacho, who is sure to start in the encounter as Sergio Aguero continues to serve his four game ban, was once a must sign for the Gunners who were however stopped in 2014 from realizing the dream.

Kelechi’s agent Kennedy Ezenwere recently revealed that he blocked the move to Emirates foreseeing that the Nigerian international would have more playing time at the Ethihad than at the Emirates.

“Arsenal were interested in Kelechi but I blocked the move. I picked Manchester City ahead of Arsenal not because of money. I know if he goes to Man City he has a better chance of playing there than Arsenal and I have been proved right,” he enthused.

Despite the failed project the Gunners still reportedly have soft spot for him and would want to wish away his goal against them.

Meanwhile Man City have signed Tecno Mobile as its official tablet and handset partner. Speaking at the launch City Group Chief Commercial Officer Tom Glick said “We are delighted to welcome Tecno Mobile to Manchester City’s growing repertoire of global partners.”

Man City go into Sunday’s tie fresh from a 2-0 victory over Watford and 4-2 away loss to Leicester City.

The two strikers whose relevant to the National team today cannot be underrated have played themselves into the heart of their coaches making it necessary for them to feature in virtually all club matches.
Ahmed Musa and his teammates are heading into the match fresh from the pains of 5-0 demolition by Porto in the Uefa Champions League just like Manchester City are still leaking the wounds of 3-1 defeat by Chelsea in an ill-tempered premier league clash that saw City dependable goal monger Sergio Aguero getting the marching orders.
His four games ban many say will increase the pressure on Ihenacho who will be hoping to re-enact the magic he performed in the Champions League clash against visiting Celtic grabbing the equalizer to prevent what would have ended as a home defeat for the Pep Guardiola tutored side.
Musa’s Leicester will be eager to record victory after three unimpressive runs that includes 2-2 home draw against Middlesborough, away loss to Sunderland before the mother of all losses against Porto.
