Fast rising musician, Kindly Amu known as Kendickson, has said that people have mocked him for his low-pitched voice but he isn’t letting that hinder his musical ambition.
“Growing up, a lot of people have talked a lot about how I talk, some mock me,” said the Bio-Technology graduate of Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
“I’m bringing me, I’m bringing my vocals, my voice texture. But people are loving it when it turns to music. I have had a lot of acceptance from other parts of the world because I’ve had people from UK, Italy, Tanzania dancing to my song.”
Currently, Kendickson’s single, ‘Jojo’, is receiving airplay on radio and TV and as well as social media and in countries like Netherlands, Italy and UK. ‘Jojo’ was dropped in May and its video was shot in Lagos by TG Omori. It has gained ‘more than half a million views on YouTube.
“There was a dance competition I did for ‘Jojo’ and all of a sudden, I started getting buzz from Netherlands. And this is actually the first time I am having such experience. So, I feel blessed and I also feel the urge to work more harder. ‘Jojo’ is just the tip of the iceberg to what I am bringing to the industry.”
According to the GM records signee, he might release another song before the year runs out.
“We are still promoting my JOJO song and we are still working on another song which I might drop before the end of the year.
