    I begged Rema to show Don Jazzy my music video for N1m – Singer Khaid

    Fast rising singer, Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon aka Khaid, has recounted how he begged senior colleague Rema to show his freestyle video to music executive Don Jazzy during his humble beginnings.

    He said he was so desperate that he was willing to give Rema his first N1 million if he would have facilitated his record deal with Mavin but he never saw his messages.

    Khaid, who is now signed to comedian Sydney Talker’s label, Neville Records, disclosed this in the latest episode of the Zero Conditions podcast.

    He said: “Rema if you are seeing this, please take heart. I actually went to Rema’s Instagram DM one day with my old account and sent my freestyle video to him. I said, ‘Bro, I know that you trap like me. Please, help me show this video to Don Jazzy. Let him sign me so that we will be on the same record label.’

    “He didn’t see the message. At that time, I was texting him with all emotions in me, bro. I was texting him with prayers. I was willing to give him my first 1 million.”

    Singer Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon aka Khaid, has reflected on his rise to stardom, admitting the menial jobs he did before getting signed to a record label. 

    The 18-year-old was signed to Neville Records owned by Comedian Sydney Talker.

    According to Khaid, he worked as a painter and car mechanic at different times before hitting stardom.

    The ‘Anabella’ crooner disclosed this while featuring in Hip TV program, Trending, hosted by reality star, KimOprah.

    He said: “I see everything as programming. At that time when I was a car mechanic, I knew it was just programmed for me to be there at that time.

    ” I knew it was necessary for me to be there at that time. I knew that was not where I was going to be forever. But I just knew it was necessary for me to go through that process either for something that’s coming in the future or something that’s gonna happen at that time.

    “I knew it was a process at that time. And I vibed with the process until I got to where I felt like is where I’m going to.”

    Raving singer and rapper, Sulaimon Solomon aka Khaid, has supported the late son of MohBad, Liam with N2m.

    Mohbad, who was formerly signed to Marlian Record Label, passed away last Tuesday at 27.

    Disclosing this via his X handle on Tuesday, Khaid stated: “It’s with great pain that I pen this, the past few days have been a rollercoaster of emotions for each and every one of us. We lost a special talent, a great personality and a friend “Imole”.

    “In my own little way, I’ll love to support the family by giving N2 Million to the wife of our late brother and convey 100 royalties of the newly released tribute song “Forever” to Liam Aloba Eyinimofeoluwa. Rest On IMOLE.”
